  1. I use #1 with an o-ring set up. Owner or Trokar.
  2. I fish jerkbaits year round, but not as much in the summer. Although, they can still be very productive. I fish floaters and suspending baits with less of a pause in warmer water. Also, I'll usually fish a smaller bait in the summer. I would never rule out a jerkbait.
  3. When I use one, this is my choice also. I do use a salty tube bait when throwing into fish feeding on schools of shad. I let the spinnerbait drop through the bait ball.
  4. Yeah... I work with a lot of bear hunters, they have killed some brutes.
  5. They are getting plentiful here in southeast N.C. also.
  6. I just started using them on a biffle head... It works on that too. ☝️This
  7. Welcome from N.C.
  8. That's what I'm talking about ?
  9. Yes, Waccamaw... It a tough one to crack for me. Lots of gators too! The locals know where the fish are though. Clarkton has some nice rual properties. I like that area. I mostly fish Sutton Lake if I take the boat out... it's a steam plant lake with some real nice bass in it.
  10. Glad you're okay! We are getting a little left over Elsa in Wilmington, N.C. as I write this. Tornado watch. Just a little rain right this minute.
  11. I fish Town Creek a little, (same conditions) the only thing I've had luck with there is bladed baits. A Siebert spinnerbait in Bluegill color and a swimbait with a underspin. My experience (though not a lot in black water) has been something that makes noise and has flash. Almost all my fish in those conditions hit as soon as the bait hit the water or a couple of cranks after. Whitwolf probably has more experience in these conditions, I'm just relaying what worked for me.
  12. I use a weed guard, but what bluebasser86 says about swimming is right on. I've had some great days of fishing doing this.
  13. Tried out some new tackle yesterday, really like the "Texas Eye" jig head , so did this guy! I removed the lead bait keeper after finding it to be a pain. I also discovered a new worm color by accident, I put a pumpkin worm in a bag of red worms and dug it out after a few weeks... Nice color!
  14. I've been using my Cashion 7' M/H fast CRT worm and jig rod lately, but my go to has been a Dobyns 7' M/Fast with a Shimano Sedona. They both get the job done.
  15. Welcome from N.C.
  16. Took the boat out to Sutton Lake this morning. Saw about 20 pelicans sitting at the steam plant intake...(strange they were that far inland) That equals bait fish! Sure enough, the bait and the bass were in there. The pelicans were diving in about 10 ft from my boat, it was amusing to watch. Managed to pick up a couple of good fish. These two fish were some of the best fighting bass I've caught. ( Truly thought they were 6lbs)They fought to the bottom and worked the drag on my finesse equipment. (8lb test/ med rod)
  17. Man, what a great day of catching! Those smallies are a great bonus. Hopefully, that continues over to your tournament.
  18. Welcome from N.C.
  19. I like the Black Hologram color! It looks like it will be a hand full of vibrations?
  20. Went on a late day pond hop today, I worked a shade pocket for about a half an hour and pulled out a bunch of fish. About 7pm I put on the 90 bone plopper... First cast as soon as it hit the water...fish. I milked it for about 1 hr. Chatterbaits in shade pockets accounted for a bunch of fish... Plopper... Runner up.
  21. Nice fish! Congratulations!
  22. Jigs with oversize trailers for deeper stuff. Spinnerbaits and chatterbaits in shallow (4ft) water.
  23. X Zone and Rabid Baits stuff came in, love the "Shaker Worms" The X Zone MB Fat Finesse Worms in the "Southern Sip" color are looking good!
