  1. This guy bit a Texas rigged Zoom worm.
  2. A few of mediocre pond fish on Bubble Gum 4" wacky rigged. Quantity has been great lately, size has been lacking. Another worm experiment... I put white Yum Dingers in with red worms and J.J.'s came out as a nice Bubble gum color a few weeks later.
  3. Welcome from N.C.
  4. Welcome from N.C.
  5. Whopper 90 in bone or Choppo in bluegill has worked well, so has the Lucky Craft Gun fish. But the topwater bite has slowed down a lot the last month or so. I still can get a couple of fish in the evening or AM.
  6. ☝️This works well
  7. Sometimes fish that we catch won't make it, but we should at least make every effort to assure they have the best chance possible. CPR or eat it! The O.P. was not meant as a dig on tournament guys, Just hate to see the waste of five nice fish.
  8. I caught the only Musky of my life on that lure. "Jointed Pikie". Back in the 70's

  10. Bobby, the short answer is research, see what comparable boats are going for. This can be time consuming, but is worth every minute you spend doing it. GaryH is spot on, the most important thing is to know the true condition of the boat, this can best be done by having a qualified marine mechanic look at it. Not just the motor, but the whole package including the trailer. After you know that, it makes pricing it a little easier. Then you can set your max price.
  11. I agree Tom, I paid a premium for my boat, but it checked all the boxes for me(wanting a Ranger on excellent condition) boat prices have been crazy high for a bit, I looked for almost a year and when this came up, I had to travel to another state and pay top dollar. I had several boats previously lined up that seemed too pricey, they sold in a day while I thought about it. You hit the nail on the head when you said "if in his budget his decision to make" That was a excellent boat, worth all of 10k in my opinion.
  12. I have an 86 320v, I love it! It fits perfectly in my garage with room to walk around. The boat itself, is a two owner boat including myself in excellent condition. The biggest complaints I have, are deck space on the bow and rod storage for rods over 6-6. I will be putting a deck extension on soon. The boat does low forties with a Johnson 90 on it . Overall, it's perfect for two people. I normally fish alone anyway. A lot of these older Ranger models are beat up, so watch yourself. Definitely have a good marine mechanic look it over if you're not knowledgeable as what to look for. Right now, boats are bringing close to top dollar in my area.
  13. I keep a pile of them for my grandkids to use. They do catch fish.

  15. Doing as much research off the water as you can , will narrow it down a bit. I usually don't spend enough time on the water mapping a new body of water, the advice I've gotten is to leave your rods at home and do your mapping if it's somewhere you are planning on fishing a lot... That's tough for me to do. In your case, you did the right thing only having a day.
  16. This☝️... I've had good luck in these areas, they tend to be more oxygen rich. I use a Chatterbait, jig or wacky rig.
  17. The water temps in this lake are in the 90's now in most areas, as it is a steam plant lake. It's hot enough here in North Carolina but factor in the hot water discharge, it makes for some very high water temperatures. I have heard some guys will add ice to their live wells. My goal is to catch fish and return them to the water quickly and safely.
  18. Went to my local lake Sunday, got to the boat ramp and found 5 dead bass at the dock. All seemed to be over 3.5 lbs. The fact that there was 5 fish, all in that size range makes me think these came out of someone's livewell. I hope I'm wrong. I don't know if there has been any tournaments recently. They look like they had been there a couple of days, the birds had been picking at them What are your thoughts? Below are a couple of pictures.
  19. What kind of rod and reel set up do you use for the Bull Wake?
  20. Welcome from N.C.
  21. You will respect my authority!
  22. Sorry for your loss A-Jay. I've been there 3 times in the last few years.
  23. This kind of stuff really trips my trigger, I don't know how many times I've walked down the bank of a pond and find all kinds of discarded plastics and fishing line. I actually bring a bag with me to pick up garbage whenever I go pond hopping.
  24. Took the Ranger out this morning, hot and humid. I've been trying to focus on bigger fish when I'm in my boat, the bite was tough, but managed to boat one chunky. Tons of bait in the water. So I resorted to confusion tactics and threw a Cranberry Wacky.
