  1. Stay safe Y'all!
  2. Check out Jordan Lake or Shearon Harris in the Raleigh, N.C. area. Also, Falls Lake. Great fishing during the week.
  3. "A" rig, those things work, but they are a pain to cast and retrieve. Don't use them much anymore.
  4. Couple of nice fish! I like the looks of that place.
  5. I would use something that covers a lot of water in a short time like a spinnerbait or chatterbait, just slow it down a bit when it's hot, that will often let you know a certain part of the pond is holding fish. It's tough when it's hot.
  6. I fish the same ponds a lot! They are easily accessible, so take that into account. To me the main thing is finding them. In the ponds I fish, there are a variety of conditions. Flats, channels and points. Knowing where the fish are most likely to be, helps. It's not a guarantee though. Once I locate the fish, what I throw is based on conditions. Water clarity, temp, etc... I don't overthink it. I just go through the process of elimination based on experience. Sometimes it's a lot of casts. In summary, the fish have to eat!
  7. I like to bring my fishing license, it seems to keep me out of trouble!
  8. I'm a spinnerbait believer, I resisted them for a long time because I thought... What would bite this contraption? Now I always have one tied on especially, when the bass are hitting schooled up shad.
  9. Welcome from N.C...again...oops!
  10. I wish I had a bar of soap, then she would have known how classy I am.
  11. Haha... Pretty soon you'll have to pair up singles and everyone will know you have a puppy.
  12. The only comeback I had was climbing out grabbing the rod and fishing... Now that I think about it, it was a lame response and she probably saw right through it all the way to my total embarrassment ?but alas, comedy was made.
  13. I use Zoom Magnum and KVD Bullworm. I only have maybe 3 or 4 different colors. They work but, not necessarily a deterrent to smaller fish.
  14. Hear that... But I may have to resort to that soon!
  15. Sometimes I find myself dropping my guard, stories like yours make me slow down and think. That was my thought...my wife said we could have won 10k on America's funniest videos.
  16. So, I went out to fish a pond in my neighborhood today and had a funny incident happen. I caught a small bass and released it. Upon entering the water the bass got tangled up in some weeds and was stuck sideways with it's gill hung up. Me being the fish loving guy I am, decided (rightfully so) to help this poor fellow. The bank was steep and we have had a lot of rain the last few days, as I crouched and started to unstick the fish I began to slide towards the water. I regained my footing and then the bank started slowly crumbling under me! I grasped at the briars to keep from going in. This went on for what seemed like 10 seconds or so. Just when I thought I was safe my backpack flipped up over my head and I fell head first into the pond. It was only about 3 or 4 ft deep, with no gators in sight. I laughed so hard then I realized a lady was watching the whole thing. So I just climbed out, grabbed my rod and started casting again. I thought about how hilarious I must have looked to that lady.
  17. Congratulations! Great loyal dogs! Does he prefer a baitcaster or spinning reel?
  18. Yes, I'm looking forward to it! I've had some luck at the lake in my boat, but there is so much bait in the water it's not an easy task to catch em!
  19. No I haven't, I haven't had any issues yet...is it in the instructions? If so, I missed it because I never read instructions ?
  20. Welcome from N. C.
  21. This thread is thoroughly entertaining
  22. Always charging, Noco on-board charger. Never had an issue.
