  1. They reopened at a location on Capital Avenue in Battle Creek.
  2. I got this favorite fishing army geo 4 piece casting rod for free! I snapped my Fenwick Eagle in half around 2 weeks ago( and they still haven’t answered back.), and I didn’t have a baitcaster rod that isn’t a zebco 33 rod. Last time I went to a new tackle shop in Battle Creek, I told them about the broken rod , and then when I came back today to buy some stuff, I got this rod! I’m just gonna use this rod as a stopgap until I can get a response from Fenwick, mostly because it’s a 7’4 rod and I’m fishing in tight corners on the bank, but I’m gonna use this as a travel rod from now on. Thank you Michigan Tackle! Anyone have any experience with this?
  3. Welcome to the site! I’m also named Josh!
  4. Welcome to the site!
  5. Welcome to the site!
  6. I’ll use this to help me fish at Ramona park, which is very, very pressured in my town of Portage. And I would also agree that finesse would be the way to go in that situation.
  7. I got a smallmouth in fall 2020, and even though I live in the area, I haven’t fished it enough to see if it made any difference. Although the bite does seem slower in fort Custer.
  8. Welcome to the site!
  9. Got around 15 Bass today and a decent crappie today at Eagle lake in Michigan! Lost a big one, which would’ve been my first fish of the day.
  10. Today I lost a 3 pound smallmouth in Ludington and a 3-4 pound largemouth in Portage:( But it’s always nice when you get the skunk off at the last second!
  11. Got this crappie and some bass today! Lost a 3 pound smallie in Ludington and a 3 pound largemouth in this lake, but the ~15 fish I caught today sorta made up for it.
  12. He is trying to like it more now! I just let him use a Zebco 33, and if I give him one of mine, he says he’d rather use the spin caster. We do spend time together when we fish!
  13. I’m 15 and I like fishing! But my dad sadly doesn’t like fishing too much.
  14. Welcome from a fellow Kalamazoo river angler from Portage!
  15. Some more Lake Michigan smallmouth Bass! They are fat!
  16. First Lake Michigan fish ever, and it’s a smallmouth!
  17. Luckily I haven’t gotten sick while fishing, although I fished after I stepped on a nail; it went through my shoe but it didn’t hurt too bad at first. Then it hurt afterwards.
  18. That’s what happened to me: my benchmark was 4, and this year I’ve caught 3 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 pounders.
  19. I’ve seen some 5s at a small pond/reservoir that my grandma lives near, and I’ve caught some 4-4 1/2 pounders in the watershed!
  20. I have a 7’ celilo light action rod and it’s caught me some big panfish and Brown trout, so I think it’s a good rod! I’m guessing the salmon/steelhead rod is also going to be good.
  21. My grandma puts basil leaves in scrambled eggs and they are really good!
  22. Same. The closest I’ve gotten is maybe a high 4
  23. Yes, I would use a jerkbait in that situation. I use jerkbaits in all seasons since they are my favorite lures! I got this fish in a culvert in the middle of summer 2 years ago. And I got my PB on a deep diving jerkbait in a very clear river.
  24. That’s what I’m going for!
