  1. I've never seen a rod break in that spot. I have snapped a St. Croix Triumph in half while pulling my bait out of weeds(Needed a medium heavy instead of a medium), but I've never seen anything like this. Hopefully you like your replacement rod!
  2. Oh. I don't have either, but thanks anyways!
  3. If the reel cover's signature isn't too faded and the pic is under 1.46 MB, then I'll find, take a picture, and post the picture of the autograph on the reel on this thread.
  4. I caught my first trout ever in October! But since I uploaded the picture from my phone, the picture is 4.7mb, which is sadly too big to post on here.
  5. Other people have probably said this, but in master angler records there is a 10.00 pound bass in master angler archives caught in Limekiln lake in Kalamazoo. I'm pretty sure Limekiln lake, where the 10 pounder and a 9 pound 12 ounce bass is a lake in the water system that is in the Condo complex that my grandma lives in!
  6. Nvm he is one of the best. I'm gonna change that. I was going for the more neutral approach, but I wasn't considering all he's done. Changed.
  7. Kevin Van Dam because he lives across town from me, I have met him and a signed Zebco 33(I only have it for decorative purposes), and he is one of the best bass fisherman ever!(Highest earnings ever) And also I caught my old pb at his pond until I dethroned it with my current pb. I mean now that I think about it, I would consider him THE best bass fisherman ever.
  8. I seem to catch a ton of little bass in my grandma's condo system's lake, and I always seen to catch them on 4-5 inch senkos, mostly in green pumpkin color with black flakes. Yes, IK this thread is a year old, but this should help! You could also catch the occasional 3-pounder on senkos too!
  9. I am also 14, and I don't really want a sponsorship. But this guy^ is absolutely right. Don't just go around asking for sponsorships because you almost never get anything you want by going around asking for free stuff.
  10. St. Croix rods are good, and I like my Fenwick Eagle Baitcaster rod, but since my most expensive rod is the St. Croix Bass X spinning(Just bought it a few days ago), I wouldn't know about the Mojo, Fenwick HMG, etc. Sorry that I couldn't help more.
  11. I'm definitely going to take some notes on this in hopes that I can catch more smallies in the Ludington area or the Kalamazoo River. I don't know anything about smallies. But I'll just keep learning!
  12. I don't know how to delete a post, like this one. How do you delete this post?
  13. I looked on a map and yes, Limekiln lake is in my grandma's condo system!!! I doubt it has a 10 pound bass in it right now, but maybe I'll break my pb! And in the same water system, a guy who was fishing near me about 3 years ago (And me) saw a big 6 pounder. Haven't seen any that big yet, but my pb bass is close, and was caught out of the same lake. And also, there is this smaller, but 80 ft deep lake in the system called lake Hill and Brook. Haven't caught more than one bass in it, but it's only a matter of time! There is also a 9 pound 12 ounce confirmed master angler entry for bass in Limekiln lake. And one of my grandma's friends, a long time resident, told me that some big fish came out of that lake. (Idk if she was talking about the master angler bass or just big fish in that lake. )
  14. Wait........... At the condo system where my Grandma lives, there is a lake called Limekiln lake, and the water system is private...... ?If that is the lake, I'm grabbing my dad's inflateable kayak and/or waders and as soon as the ice clears, I'm fishing that lake all summer!
  15. Hello! I am Josh, also known as TheBasslayer, and I'm new to this forum, even though I have posted some stuff today. Where I fish: I mainly fish in the rivers and lakes in the Kalamazoo/Portage Michigan area, like Willow Lake, Lake Hill and Brook, Portage Creek, Sometimes the Kalamazoo River, Austin Lake, Long Lake, and many more. I also fish in the Ludington Area when my family visits since we own a vacation apartment. I've fished the Pere Marquette River, Lake Michigan (Sorta), Big Sable River/Hamlin Lake, and Pere Marquette Lake. How long I've fished: I've fished for about 3-4 years, starting in 2016, when I caught my first bluegill. Fish/Animal species I've caught: 1. Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass 2. Panfish/Rock Bass/Yellow Perch 3. Brown Trout 4. Northern Pike 5. Bowfin Honorary mention: A snapping turtle who broke off another guy and I snagged the guy's line with my Jerkbait. Favorite lure: It's a weird one, but the Rapala Shadow Rap 11 in Olive Green usually gets the big bass in my area fired up, especially in spring. And I am primarily a bank fisherman, but I hope to use more kayaks for fishing.

  17. Personally I don't eat the fish I catch, probably because I don't have anything to transport them home with, but if it's from a restaurant, then I'd say Yellow Perch, Panfish, Walleye, and whitefish are tasty. Yet to try bass, but I've heard that they aren't as good as other fish.
  18. Yeah, the multiple quality posts are why I joined. And sorry if my posts aren't the best, forums are new to me.
  19. Wow. You guys are lucky. I don't even have a high school team or club at my high school, let alone a middle school team. It may be because of my location, but I would've been so excited if there was or is a middle/high school team.
  20. Nice looking rod! I don't spend too much on rods but I just got a 7'1 MH St. Croix Bass X spinning rod. Hope your rod is good!
  21. Time for me to get these lures off my mind. The full list of mainstream baits I've never caught a bass on. 1. Topwater/frog(Don't use often though) 2. Spinnerbait 3. Crawfish imitation(That will hopefully get off my list in the spring)
  22. In early spring, I use baits like jerkbaits or senkos. (Yes, I'm also kinda a beginning/amateur angler)
  23. If you count Portage/Kalamazoo as GR area, then yes, I am sorta in the GR area(An hour away)
  24. Well idk which lake that is, but if that lake ever opens up, I would like to go!
