  1. I think that for me, it's topwaters. I don't know if the fish in my local pond don't like it, but I never catch anything on topwaters. I just got a popper, and that might help me catch one, instead of using my old Whopper Plopper 90 in an interesting color.
  2. Well next time I go to Detroit I know where I'm gonna try to fish! Those are massive!
  3. Lol I wasn't thinking at all when I posted this. I just finished a lot of homework at the time, so I just wasn't thinking.
  4. Yeah, that isn't a good feeling when you get all of that cotton stuck in your line and sometimes in your spool.
  5. Thanks for the advice for college. I'll reread this when I'm a Senior in about 4 years! Almost there!
  6. Yeah almost the same with my bag. I forgot the front pockets.
  7. I use a plano tackle bag and I really like it! It is about 1-2 years old, so I can't find it on the Plano site or in my pictures, but I'll get a picture later. I really like it! It's a blue-black camo tackle bag, and it can fit 5 big tackle boxes, a smaller one for spinners and UL stuff, a fly box, and everything else I need!
  8. Let's go I got highest honors in my school's academic awards! That means I got a 4.0 GPA or higher! Edit: Sorry if the title causes confusion. I'm a freshman in high school, and sorry if this changes anyone's opinions. I am Joshua Lindsay btw.
  9. 2021 lineup of reels Baitcasting: Abu Garcia Black Max(6.4:1) Spinning: 2500 Daiwa Regal LT 1000 Shimano Sienna Coming in: 2500 Daiwa Crossfire LT
  10. I caught this bass around the low-mid 2 pounder fishing my Olive Green Shadow Rap from a dock! Not bad for being stuck on one dock and in cool water temperatures imho!
  11. We haven't found a toy that my mini daschund hasn't eaten up within a few days. He eats them up! And I do not have any experience with Spiderwire, but it shouldn't be too bad of a line.
  12. Those are some nice fish! I wish Southern Michigan had Lakes like that! I wanna fish Torch Lake sometime, which to me seems kinda similar to Lake George.
  13. I haven't caught anything on topwater, probably since I'm a bank fisherman, but also because I don't try it too much. I need to buy a different color, because I snagged it and got it back about 3 months later all dirty and rusty. It was underwater for the whole time.
  14. I live in Kalamazoo, and Idk if there are any really good Bass lakes around me. I do have spots though, but I don't know if there are too many spots. And also, even though I haven't really fished for bass out-of state, some of the lakes in the Tennessee/Alabama/Georgia range might not be as hot as places like Florida or Texas. Burt/Mullet and St. Clair would also probably be good!
  15. I got a 7'0 med spinning Aird-X and it worked very well! I could feel the little Brown Trout biting my spinner, but it had enough power to get out of snags! Can't wait to use it for bass fishing!
  16. Well I got some tubes made by a guy locally at my local tackle shop, so I should be fine for now. I will buy some more of the lures that you guys suggested later when I go again soon.
  17. Welcome to the forum! I live near another river similar to the St. Joe river, the Kalamazoo River, in Portage, MI. I hope to catch a big Smallie near me someday. I know they live in the Kalamazoo, I just need to find them!
  18. x2 on this reel. It's a great ultralight reel for me! And my Regal LT is a very good reel for 60 bucks! It's smooth, casts well, and has pretty good drag! It's good on my Bass X, which performs as expected.
  19. Overall I've always used 10-12 pound flouro, and it works for me. I would use a leader if you are fishing water that is clear, and I would still use it if the water is muddy, but it isn't as important as using it in clear water.
  20. Yeah, some of these Michigan weekends have either been rainy, cold, or extremly hot. I mean I can still fish, but I have only had some real luck about 2-3 weekends ago, when I caught my first decent bass of the year! I may just go to trout fishing with my new fly-fishing pole if it is cold again. Although this weekend should be ok, with temps in the high 70s.
  21. I love my rapala jerkbaits! I caught my PB Lagemouth on an Olive Green 4 inch Shadow Rap in the middle of summer! I just casted it into this culvert and I got it! I also used a big X-Rap to catch my first pike, and a small X-Rap to catch my 1st Sauger! I might try my X-Rap for some Smallmouths, and I'll try some of the baits that were listed in this thread! Still haven't gone fishing because of school
  22. I just got some 12 pound Tactical, and it seems like it will be pretty good! Anyone else in 2021 try out the line?
  23. I only know the basic knots, but for me the palomar knot is easy to tie and is really strong. I also run braid to flouro for my poles, so this should hopefully help!
  24. Welcome to the site!
