Lucky for us in Michigan, I guess! I am allowed 3 rods in the water per person, but I usually only have 1-2 rods in the water at a time since I fish from the shore a lot.
I am currently using these baits-
1. Weightless Texas-Rigged Senkos
2. Jerkbaits
3. Tiny jigheads with panfish tubes(For small bass and the occasional Bluegill)
6 years later, but it still produces for me! I actually caught my PB bass by throwing the Olive Green Shadow Rap into a culvert in the middle of the summer! I had to replace the hooks after a few fish though, but the bait itself is great!
My confidence baits are the ones that I always have on my 2 main rods, and I'll switch when fishing if I need to.
1. Weightless Texas-Rigged Senko
2. Suspending Jerkbait
Seems like a nice set up! I would think Flourocarbon would be better than mono for pike because of the increased abrasion resistance against the teeth of the pike, but other than that it seems pretty nice! I have a similar set-up a few steps down the price ladder, with a 7'1 Med-Hvy St. Croix Bass X and a 2500 Daiwa Regal LT, and I really like it!
I have the St. Croix Bass X , so I can't say anything about the Mojo, but I've heard good things about the Tatula, but I'm also guessing that the Mojo is a pretty good rod, since I like my Bass X.
I do like my braid to flourocarbon line/leader! I'm gonna do better connector knots like the FG knot soon, but for now, the Double-Uni knot is fine for me. It's ok if you don't like the braid with leader, because straight mono or flouro is also pretty good!
Well then you probably do not need backing for the reel. Although backing would save you money is you aren't fighting fish that use lots of drag. Happy fishing!
It depends on which spinning reel you are using. Some reels have a braid-ready spool, where you don't need to add backing, but for the average spinning reel, I would probably add backing so that it won't slip on the arbor knot or whatever knot you use to attach the line to the spool.
Luckily my teachers are pretty leanient on missing work, especially because of the covid. My tests are pretty good, and I've gotten better this semester, but in the 1st semester, I sucked at finishing work on time.
I got the Regal LT in 2500, and it's a great reel! I have it in the 2500, and it's my main spinning reel for just about everything associated with spinning reels! And also the Carbonlite seems like a great value!
