  1. Here's another one Captains Courageous
  2. A river runs through it. The old man and the sea.
  3. Dan, you should send it up to the rock pile just up from you, Last Fri. we saw a few good Smallies starting to hover around last years beds. Jim
  4. Thanks A-Jay, I got it now. I actually stopped by the Ford garage and showed it to the service manager. He was scratching his head over the poor design.
  5. Thanks everyone, I'm thinking putting the FOB in the back of the boat is the way to go. Thanks, A-Jay, only problem is if the lift gate is up, plugging or unplugging the wires activates it to come back down.
  6. I know this is miniscule in the grand scheme of things, however, it's just a little bit annoying to me. Our tow vehicle is a 2020 Ford Edge with a factory tow package. This is our second Edge and we absolutely love it. It tows our 16" Lund with out complaint and is perfect for us. However, it does have one quirk, which as I said kind of annoys me. Our Edge has the foot activated power lift gate. I thought it would be kind of gimmicky, but we now use it all the time. Here in lies the quirk . Ford engineers decided to put the trailer wiring plug right underneath one of the lift gate sensors. So when I lean down to plug or unplug the trailer lights, it activates the lift gate. If it's open, it closes. If it's closed, it opens. As my head is right by the lift gate at the time, more often than not it hits me, Not hard, but as I said, just enough to annoy me. I discovered this not too long after we bought the car last fall, and called Ford about it, but they never got back to me. I looked at rerouting the wiring harness, but it looks like the best place for it is where it is. I'm sure in time I'll get used to it. Until then maybe I'll put a "Reminder Duck" note on the plug. Well, thanks for listening and for letting me vent some. On a side note: If you are ever at the boat launch and happen to see someone getting whacked by their car, stop by and say hi, it's probably me.? Jim
  7. Thanks for the replies. We'll keep an eye on it.
  8. Thanks for the reply. Sorry, that wasn't the best pic. Here's a few more that show the deer better.
  9. Hi everyone, One of my trail cams picked up this deer. It's got hunks of fur missing and the inside of it's ears are bloody. We haven't seen this on a deer before. Any idea what could be wrong with it? Thanks Jim
  10. Picked up a 18" salmon on a ned rig a couple years ago, That shocked me a bit.
  11. Bad back, foot, and now my knees are going so sit for me. Thanks to my Ulterra I can sit to deploy and stow that also.
  12. I always prefer overcast days. Can't tell you how many times we were nailing them all morning during overcast days and then the second the sun came out they shut right off. LM I'm holding in my picture 5+ lbs. was caught five feet from the boat in six feet of water on a spinnerbait , on a overcast day.
  13. Yes, it sure is. We have a lot of them around here
  14. Hi everyone, I've been trying to thin out the mice around my tractor shed ( they live under the front of it) and so have been live trapping them ( 4 so far and counting). To keep track of my progress I have a trail cam set up. Most nights I just see this ( he went into the trap soon after this was taken) However, last night was quite busy We'll see what tonight brings Thanks for looking Jim
  15. I have 6' 6" thru 7". I find switching from one to the other of different lengths really doesn't matter to me. Of course I grew up in the era when you only had one rod and used it for everything.
  16. Thank you for the replies and info. We are taking a hard look at Moultrie brand cameras.
  17. Hello everyone. My wife and I don't hunt, but live out in the woods and see lots of wildlife. We have been kind of wondering about all the wildlife we don't see, and thought of getting a trail cam to show us all the critters we might be missing. As we are somewhat" tech" challenged we were thinking of a trail cam that uses a card, maybe one that will take a pic every 2-3 sec. as long as there is movement. Do you use or would recommend a not to pricy camera that would fit the bill for us? Or any one or kind to stay away from? Thanks Jim
  18. Just can't seem to find the right combo to toss this Jitterbug. Any ideas? A guy on my woodworking forum made this from scratch. All except the hooks, Mustad size 20/0. A little humor, I thought you might enjoy.
  19. I started with a worm and bobber, then inline spinners, spoons, and so on. Today I have tackle boxes with a lot of the new and cool stuff, but some times I'll throw the old trusty inline spinners or a jitterbug. I guess as far as I've come, I really haven't moved that much. Here's a couple of pics. The first is me and my dad on Mousam lake taken in 1956. I had the fishing bug from as far as I can remember. Even with the toy rod and real I was trying to catch something. The second pic is me on the same lake, this year.
  20. Well, this was a bust. We ended up with about 2" of frozen slushy white stuff.
  21. I usually enjoy the snow, but I'm not really a fan of the rain snow mix. When we were kids it just snowed. I miss that.
  22. They keep upping our forecast. As of 2:37 PM ( just outside of Kittery) we are up to a possible 14" of the white stuff.
  23. I'm 5 miles in from the coast in real Southern Maine and as of this moment it's pouring rain. It's supposed to change to snow tonight with 5-7 " expected. The snowblower is on the tractor, plenty of gas for the genny. I guess I'm ready to go.
  24. You too Dan, hopefully we'll see you and the missus on the lake next Spring.
