6.3 should be perfect for crankbaits and chatterbaits, should keep the lure right where it needs to be. I’m sure a 6.3 would be fine for any appropriate topwater applications you’re wanting to throw on this combo as well.

@Bluebasser86 took me and my high school fishing partner out to a hot water plant lake, and we had a great day!! He put on some great fish, and our fish fish of the year! We caught 6, 2-3.5 pounders between the three of us, all good healthy fish! Got in some multi species action, with a walleye, white bass, and cut bait for blue cats. It was a really fun day. #2.5. Regular SLX, 7.1:1. Whatever rod comes with the black maxes. 10 pound fluoro or mono, based on whatever is on hand at the time. While this is one of my cheapest combos, I only paid for the reel, but it’s my favorite cause I’ve caught so many jerkbait fish on it! When I’m not fishing, I’ll pick it up and pretend to be throwing a jerkbait for awhile, and think of the fun.
