  1. Picked up a Berkley Stunna jerk bait. I must say it is a really good jerkbait for only $15.
  2. I don't think I've ever caught a fish on a lipless. I've caught fish on a blade bait though.
  3. Interesting. They sounds suitable for getting rid of stray cats, right?
  4. "Here kid, reel in the cat food"! Congrats!
  5. Thats where one of em is in two weeks. Lets us know how you do, send all the juicy info straight to me, and post it on the forum after our tournament is over ?
  6. What is it with people and lipless crank baits?
  7. So the big hole don't keep em out? Kneeling down to take pics of all the biggins you catch put that hole there right?
  8. Pulling it out would be better
  9. See if the spook bite is on a some of the smallmouth lakes. We've got high school tournaments soon...
  10. Yikes, this is the part where you get on floor of the boat and start crying.
  11. Thats a nice fish, big gut! The free Bass Resource Weight Calculator, available under tools(In the menu drop down), puts the fish at 5.49! Almost there! Here is the calculator: https://www.bassresource.com/bassfishing/fishcalculator.html
  12. I'd go for the SLX Combo, $140 is a steal. The rod is pretty sensitive and strong, you could throw just about anything on it. It sounds like you're just starting out with a baitcaster, so start with mono, and once you can cast well without many backlashes( and you can get a backlash out), go to Seaguar fluorocarbon. I'd use 12-15 pound depending on where your fishing, and what lure you use the most with this combo. Read the manual on the SLX reel, and you won't backlash that often. The brakes are quite good on the SLX. Not the biggest fan of kastking. I've tried the Tatula and it is a good reel.
  13. Future ten pounder!
  14. Crimp the rivet, bend the wire in a couple places, take off the skirt and you're good to go. The skirt makes a good small spinnerbait skirt if you trim it up a little bit. You tune your buzz baits once they start running sideways?
  15. This made me laugh out loud. My butt hurts just thinking about getting whipped with that thing... The rod looks cool. I'd get it if it isn't too expensive. Looks like some that would be fun to catch a biggun on.
  16. Keep your rod tip UP when reeling. Throw a lighter head with a trailer, makes it easier to skip to. My favorite buzzbait is a Walmart $1 buzzbait, with a rage menace trailer, no skirt. Don't throw braid, use fluoro if you can.
  17. This would be cool! I've tried a number of times to put a zako on the back of other bladed jigs. I've only gotten them on the JackHammer without it ripping down the middle. I wonder if Gary and Evergreen and zman have a deal
  18. The wife doesn't know this.
  19. Did you get a weight on this spot?! He is big!
  20. These people don't have Bass Resource in their lives...
  21. Just about everything is consistently a couple bucks off. I recommend getting signed up for there email newsletter, lets you know when they do these sales every week.
