  1. You are correct! Its the reverse of using a longer wrench. Thanks for plumbing me up.
  2. Senko. 5”. #928 color
  3. How? Trying to learn. I go to a local store and I’ll fondle rods. I gather very little intel except grip, weight maybe handle length. The shop won’t let me attach a reel and let a practice plug fly. To the OP’s question. I feel a longer rod sets a hook with more authority. Leverage, and it simply moves line faster with the bigger arc-length I got the 7. It’s the longest rod I can get into my truck.
  4. I got one. You can’t launch a canoe off the beach into the surf I kid! I love my kayak. But it has pedals for power. Hand free for fishing.
  5. For instance; my PB is a 6lb. But I got it off a bass boat (on a guided trip) I think a 6 off my kayak, or bank fishing would “mean more”. DIY. is there a PB pecking order? (For you)
  6. That rod is mo in my very humble opinion: that rod wouldn’t work for me. Why? It has the wrong hook keeper loop. I like the one that is below the handle that you can clip a drop shot sinker on. Or in your case, the wacky SENKO. I LOVE my med-fast spinning rod. It’s the Phenix Maxim. It’s 7 foot 3 tho.
  7. Hooks tied on using snell-knot. Worth mentioning I think.
  8. Thanks. I have an unhealthy number of keitech jigs on the way. I’ll size up some trailers at my local shop after I get them. you all trimming the weed guard any?
  9. Funny story. Buddy and I raced for a good looking spot. I have a faster yak so I casted in first. A jig. Nothing buddy tossed in a smaller Kietech jig and WHAM! He got a good one. Haha. I was happy for him but that was tough to watch. I have high hopes for this weekend. My friend is in Colorado!
  10. I have. It’s kinda the catalyst. the first page alone is great. Thx
  11. In my defense I’m not even a year into bass fishing. Especially not from my kayak. but the jig. I’m bordering obsessed. I’ll get the skunk off for the day and then I’ll toss the jig an extraordinary amount of time. Haha. it will happen soon I think. It’s so similar to me fishing a Tex-rig which is one of my confidence moves, it has to happen. I have some smaller jigs coming in the mail soon. fingers crossed.
  12. I would use light braid. but 8lb flouro would be something I’d try. I don’t know if it works, but I spray my flouro-line with that line dressing. Occasionally if I remember. Makes me feel better and seems to help line memory.
  13. Blanchard just did a video on San V I think.
  14. My friend is a good paddler. he out fishes me two to one. He rides around in a Walmart yak he bought for $100.
  15. Full disclosure. I wouldn’t even be fishing (kayak) if it were not for some guy killing it on my local waters. He motivated me by making me think” hey that looks like fun and I can do that!” some random YouTube dude that just offers enough secret intel to make me fairly effective as a fisherman. I do know if f he highlighted a bait, that same bait would be sold out at TW. The dude has juice. Frankly: good for him! I hope he is making money. If I could I would. I’ll never fault a person to get good at something and parlay it into a paycheck. If it be was easy; we all could do it. Some guys bore the hell out of me.
  16. Thanks. Great responses id like to add. I was on my kayak for 9 hours. Only beached to strip off clothing layers and “nature walks” which was zero walking. Just beached it.
  17. I started off bundled up warm. As the day progressed, I stripped off layers and stuff them into a dry sack. End of day I could have been in shorts. It did start to chill again as we headed in. fish are starting to cooperate
  18. Man I’m sore! Stiff winds in both directions. yesterday a buddy and I huffed it to a spot that looked great on google earth. Our efforts were rewarded. We found a great spot. Submerged trees only kayaks can navigate. Bass boats were blasting past us. (Boat wakes in the trees are interesting) I think we did eight miles. I’m not at the electric motor place in my life, but the thought did cross my mind. This spot will get great as we warm up weather wise and the bass get more daylight hours. CBD laced pain ointment to the rescue. next time I’m gonna track my miles w GPS.
  19. I use this hook. I like it weedless so I can whisper a prayer and huck it into a submerged tree. I pulled out 9 Clearlake bass from a single tree my first successful visit to that lake. (Kicking myself for not trying a jig). The weedless thing works pretty well. 1/0. With an o-ring or these clear plastic strap things my friend uses. I have only lost one fist I can remember and that fish stole the worm entirely
  20. They’re out?! Oh no. i hope the y work, I got mine for $53. Haha.
  21. This. Tex rig fishing is almost so slow it’s boring to me. Sloooow. But I love feeling the bait translate the bottom back to me. “Was that a stick? Freeze! Yup a stick...”. It’s when that stick taps you back while your frozen. Boom. ‘’I was a kid (relative kid - college) when a guy taught me the t-rig on a lake in Mexico. My brother and I got skunked on day one. Everyone else got hundreds. They handed us terminal tackle (before I knew it was called terminal tackle) and a few bags of motor oil colored worms and lizards and verbally explained the technique. I’ll never forget that first tap tap tap. My Mexican guide knew zero English but he somehow convinced me to set the hook when I said, “I think I felt something”. My brother and I learned something that trip. I just t-rig several bass on the California Delta last week. Brought back fond memories. I’m gonna go old school lizard t-rig this spring. Motor oil color! My bank fishing lake. I need weedless. I fish a t-rig with a TRD stick bait behind a 3/8 sinker pegged to mimic a Ned rig. I even use a wire worm hook 1/0. slow! I envision the bait floating up mimicking something feeding on the bottom. I’m gonna try the big TRD next time.
  22. 1-800-bait-monkey. Haha. admitting there is a problem is the first step.
  23. Show-off!
  24. Those shrewd marketing people; I don’t stand a chance. those Berkeley Flat worms have been very difficult to get. Well, they are in stock at TW. I grabbed a few packs. ( I love drop-shot fishing) The Siren’s song called “free shipping” is much to tempting. Bewitching almost. now I have a bunch of stuff on the way. $53 worth. Oddly enough I still forgot a few things I never seem to remember. Scent-stick, yellow dye marker, and lure knockers.
  25. Great videos. His budget must be astronomical. I love his final products.
