  1. can't you use the holes for the power anchor? the threaded holes?
  2. what a tough story. so sad.
  3. solid logic @VolFan. solid! but somehow the added adventure of foreign lands and foreign languages adds to the allure for any fishing trip. I could have gone for much smaller peacock in Florida, but I wouldn't have seen/done/tasted/smelled/heard the things I did in Brazil. its the package I am seeking.
  4. I got my K back in 2019. it still looks brand new. it feels giant in my hands, but I still love it. super solid, and truth be told, I should have filled it with braid and taken it to Brazil instead of the MGL150 I made ride shotgun. bigger line capacity and the extra size would have been welcomed going after the native peacock.
  5. i have this one life to live. trying to fit it all in. not a lot of info out there.
  6. i'm ready to focus on 2024. i didnt suck badly this year, but the weather we had and have has been messing with my mojo.
  7. like our Tennesee friend above. i am a pro-sleeper. i get 8 hours easy. i cant fall asleep anywhere, like on a plane or airport..but i am very regimended in my sleep habits. i try not to deviate from the routine. sleepy time is when we heal.
  8. @flyfisher incredible! 70+ hours is wild. I think we die after 10 days sleep deprivation. 3 days we lose mental health. and your first sentence and last sentence contradict each other.
  9. I’m not young anymore. Brutal. I woke up Oct 10, at 5:00am and fished until noon. We got back to the mothership, addresses details like tipping the staff, packing our bags. Dinner. Went to bed for the what seemed like the last time. We woke up early, got off the ship and went to a jungle dirt runway and flew back to civilization. We checked into a hotel for no reason other than to shower, poop, etc. we all went souvenir shopping, got therapeutic messages, and ate a group dinner. I took a two hour nap, and and we got on a bus to the airport. 24 hours later my wife brought me home. SOMETHING BAD HAPPENED which delayed any sleep for another 3 hours. ( sorry still can’t talk about it). The bad thing kept playing over and over in my head so I didn’t really sleep. I might have dozed, but I’ve now been up 40 hours or so. No sleeping in the flights or layovers. it was crushing physically and mentally. I caught a cold and everything. This past weekend I focused on rest. I slept 10-11 hour every night and I’m all better. I remember in my youth it was no big deal. Now? I should have packed an Ambien. what is you longest awake session?!
  10. i wanna come back as a Trophy Wife!! hhahaha..
  11. My favorite rod coincides with my favorite technique. Light bottom contact in the form of tx-rig, free-rig, or jig….and even a weightless senko rigged weedless. I love it and the rod that I chose as “the one”. well, I broke the one:( im in the middle of sorting this all out, but I will buy another one right away if it all goes sideways. the X-Bites.
  12. i thought you had a ProAngler?
  13. DUH!! sorry. exiting now.
  14. do it. sometimes things just go wrong. nobody's fault.
  15. the Delta has been daunting for me this year. janky weird weather with late springs, and cold snaps..and even some odd rain storms. nutty.
  16. in my hands, i get better distances with the Shimano reels i own.
  17. i am feeling your pain. i just got a rod tube to send my fav rod in. i snapped it way down the shaft and it blew up. i am cutting in further into smaller pieces to save on shipping. it hurts. but rods break..sucks.
  18. The travel sucked. I got a mild cold for starters, and I slept 10-11 hours every night this weekend. Nuts. Fell pretty great now. I’ll break up travel days if I do this again. No more marathon travel.
  19. Zackly! @casts_by_fly
  20. Souvenirs. No hat from my layover in Panama, although very tempting. I wanted one thing to bring back with me. I elected to hit a tackle shop and buy a Brazilian lure called the Perversa. It smoked many peacocks. It darts side to side subsurface. Probable 12 -18” deep. I think it might be effective darting it over submerged grass. I’m hoping a domestic LMB smokes it. I am changing the hooks first. Peacock hooks are burly and heavy and not that sharp. I’ll find a properly sized Owner hook and change them out. I sought out the most natural color. Most Perversa were so brightly colored. Like parade floats.
  21. I used him last time. Reel came back a bit loud, if I’m being honest. Performance was fine tho. spreading the love.
