  2. Just read a great article about crawdads, here is an excerpt from it and i will post the link below it. I learned that i didnt know jack about them before this article. {The molt will dramatically change the color of crawfish from a camouflage olive/brown, to a bright orange or red cast, making them an easy visual target for bass. But understand that a bass must work more diligently, and expend much more energy to catch a crawfish during the molt than during the mating cycle.} https://www.bassmaster.com/understanding-bass-forage-crawfish

  4. yeah i get it, especially if they attack you the people watching will pull out ther phones and start recording as you get a beatdown and wont help you. At least you tried.
  5. why didnt you ask them to stop with the bottle breaking? i dont know what type of water you were fishing but if someone wades out they can cut their foot.
  6. do you put your paddletails on upside down?
  7. all tied and spro swiveled up for easy quick change to my main line clip from texas rigs to top waters when out wading in deep water. Put a few of these rigs and other ready to go leaders into a baggie and into my pack and off i go.
  8. this is my bank walking and chest waders pack. When walking the bank i leave it on or toss it beside me. When wading i cinch it up tight and wear it on my waist or across my back. It will get wet when wading because i go deep but most everything is in baggies and will dry out all stuff when i get home if needed and will spray some remington rem oil on the metal gear such as my utility knive clippers... I only carry one rod easy peasy.
  9. weekends i go to the lakes that have no boat access ramp and very few if any houses on the lake. Weekdays i hit the more popuated lakes. The music being played from the wild kids on dads boat playing that bad language music and hearing them yell all day and some girls even screaming for whatever reason is a bummer.
  10. i always have a snap on the end of my braid and always use a fc leader with a #8 spro swivel on my leaders to put into the snap. The leaders are allready tied direct all my pre rigged texas rigs, jigs, spinners.....everything except top water which i use a snap on the leader to snap on snap off topwaters. To prevent reeling in the snap and swivel i put a plastic bead on the braid mainline and it stops that problem So yeah i have many large baggies full of lures allready tied onto leaders with the swivel on the other end just waiting to be snapped on or off at a moments notice. I have pike to deal with so i can easilly pull out an 80 lb pre made leader allready tied onto a lure or snap onto a lure and keep fishing. Is it alot of hardware? yes but it works out well for me when bank fishing and wading with chest waders and a small pouch slung over my shoulder and neck where tying new lures on is a big problem.
  11. i was wrestling with some split rings last week to put feathered trebbles on my spooks and i fumbled with the split ring pliers and one particular ring for many minutes like a fool and finally used my finger nail on my thumb and got it done in mere seconds. Note that your thumb nail will hurt if its not well conditioned for this procedure.?
  12. i drag all my plastics outside the car window while driving to the lake to get them worn in looking. ?
  13. i recall standing in line in grade school in the 60,s when all of us classmates were in fear of that big pistol looking needle gun and some of the kids were crying as we were all asking each other will it hurt? That was our only fear was the needle pain as we didnt even understand what the shot was for.
  14. this is the first time i am scuffing up baits and also dont know if it makes a big or any difference.
  15. more natural looking i have been told, also brings some salt out. I am doing that to some worms, tube, and craws when i am watching a boring movie show. When done i put them in a good sealed bait pouch and soak em with bass attractant and let them marinate. These are the plastics i will use on the next trip and replentish the ones i lose so rinse and repeat.
  16. I went to Menards and looked at the glove selection and bought a tight form fitting nylon upper with a good rubberish palm. At home i cut the fingers down to a non intrusive comfort, lure handling and tying length. Then i take a lighter and melt the material around the cut fingers to stop any unraveling of the thread material. Cost me $7.00. My gloves never come off unless i am taking a break to eat a sandwich.
  17. I have been called by the VA and asked if i want to come in for a shot and i declined. I am going to wait, for how long i cant say. Maybe forever. Anyone else holding out?
  18. my lakes dont have many folks living on them and some none at all. My question is when you are skipping docks and the residents are outside and can see you and you them do you bypass their dock or ?
  19. here is a pic of my jigs, the top one is untouched, the other two i trimmed, note that i trim the skirts so the neck flares out and then i thin out the bottom strands and make it uneven looking. I also trim the weed guard back.
  20. fleetfarm has boxes of stock sitting in the isles and is in the process of stocking the shelves. I bought a couple of these jigs, they are $1.49 a piece, this is not a sale and looks to be a brand that is new to me and the fleetfarm i go to. The jig has a molded in bait hold and checks all the boxes for what i need in a jig and not worry if i lose it.
  21. this is me with the philipino farmer. The farmer doesnt wear shoes because he cant afford to buy any and he has been walking barefoot since he was a little boy and the soles of his feet are as tough as leather.
  22. When wife and i lived in the philippines we lived in the city. This is a pic of my wifes brother carrying our luggage to her parents bamboo home which sits in the middle of rice fields.
