  1. This winter i am recovering from a november shoulder reconstruction surgery. I had a tenodesis of my longhead biceps, that means taking the biceps from where it attaches on top of the labrum and reattach it to my humerus, arm bone. Cleaned up my torn labrum which now isnt being torn more because the biceps tendon that attaches to it was cut and reattached as mentioned. Stitched my rotator cuff supraspinatis tear back together, removed some bone spurs from under my acromium, cut abnormal bone growth from my AC Joint. Been doing therapy for 2 weeks now. This was my 3rd operation on this right shoulder, surgeon told me he saved me from having a shoulder replacement. This is why i switch my handle on my reel from right to left every hour or so. I havnt and wont be shoveling or blowing snow this winter ?. Merry x-mas.
  2. Wednesday 12.30 lunchtime in fargo heavvy mustard still falling since yesteerday. 6 inches and more coming thru friday night. Havnt attempted to move it yet but wife did make a big snowman.
  3. I had a rat get into my apartment twice in the philippiines. Both times i was in bed gettin ready to fall asleep when my wife seen it flash by. Chased it around in my boxers weilding a broom for an hour finally slap shotting it to its death and the second one i was ready for it by chasing it into a sticky trap.
  4. All this year wife and i used lures and plastics, wife also used gulp live minnows. Then in oct a person next to us gave us their live, dead minnows and wife put them on and wow what a difference from gulp live minnows. I then put a few on a jig head and the smallies went wild. The next time we went fishin we bought a 1/2 scoop of minnows at scheels for $3.75 and caught smallies and walleye and had enough minnows left for our next trip though dead they worked great. I will now bring real minnows on every trip because they are cheap and they catch fish. Also easy to store in the freezer by putting them in plastic bag and soaking them in cheap vodka. Heck a bag of 3 inch gulp live shiners 12 per pack costs $6.99-7.99 and get destroyed quickley, live minnows can last as long as a gulp and are better ln cost and best in attracting fish. I like to catch fish and dont care if its a live minnow or may even use nite crawlers. I am over the stigma that you are not a real fisherman if you use live bait. Now how about you real fishermen take your side imagining, depth finders, sonar and other electronics out of your fishing vessels and tell me how you did that day. Hey g-man this is not a attack on you personally?
  5. This is the main reason i now spend all my time fishing the dams in north dakota, 4 of them all within 70 miles of home. In one day the wife and i standing in the same spot will catch muskie, pike, smallies, largies, walleye, white bass, panfish, bullheads, channel cats, carp. We see steurgeon but havnt caught one yet. The best part about fishin the dam is all the fish i listed are caught on the sames lures i use for walleye and smallies. I just never know whats gonna hit on any cast. To my pleasure that is what gets me jacked up to go now, the wide variety keeps me engaged. Also my wife grew up in the philippines eating fish 3 times a day. She loves to catch walleye to eat and gets excited when she lands a good eater size walleye but when she catches a smallie or largie or anything other than a walleye its just ho hum.
  6. Pike, muskie, walleye at the dam wings towards sundown or heavy overcast days.
  7. The hourly wage to pay someone to paint them and put them together if not made in 3rd world country would probably break mom and pop. Not a carreer big money job with paid health care and vacation days, just a hey can you lend me a hand this weekend type job.
  8. Get some epoxy and circuit board material and make your own.
  9. i seen it on an automotive youtube video awhile back. The baking soda takes the moisture out of the glue and allows it to harden instantly.
  10. ok i get it now. I like how you went far out with the quote. What were the "four thousand holes in Blackburn Lancashire", referred to in the Beatles song "A Day in the Life"? Another column mentioned the state of road repair in Blackburn, where, to the shock and horror of the readership, there were 4,000 holes. A lot of John Lennon's writing was pythonesque, even before the Beatles' celebrated acid-dropping experiences, so please don't believe that this is either some sort of drug-induced insight or eternal truth.
  11. need bigger NIL money thrown out there?
  12. This for smallies in the rivers and along for the ride come the muskie and walleye.
  13. Randy...... Randy...... ? ?
  14. I would be lost without it. I wear my headlamp in the summer with a mosquito head net which costs under $ 5.00. I only use it in summer to walk the bank or up the rip-rap of a dam bank and to put on new lures or take fish off. In summer I can see pretty good up untill 9:30pm. In the colder fall months when it gets dark out at 7:30pm with no mosquitoes or knats around i use it with no head net. I have been keeping the light on so when i reel my bait in i can check for gunk without fumbling with turning on headlamp. I keep spare batteries in tackle box. Oh and try to manuever around this bank with no light and then climb the rip-rap with all your gear to get out to the top and to the car.
  15. Read this article from a Fergus Falls Minnesota newspaper. How fast do fish actually grow? > In Otter Tail County [MN], fish typically only grow during 3 months of the year, Jun, July and Aug. Once water temps begin to decline in Sep, fish growth stops and excess calories are preserved as fat for the long winter ahead instead of continued growth. In the spring, energy is spent on spawning instead of growth. With such a short window of opportunity for fish to grow, many anglers are surprised to find out how long it takes to produce a “keeper” sized fish. > The type of lake a fish lives in also determines how fast it may grow. Shallow, fertile bodies of water tend to warm quicker in the spring and have more productive food chains. Growth rates tend to be faster in these types of lakes. Deep, less fertile lakes take longer to warm in the spring and have less productive food chains, which leads to slower growth rates. Now, for the more-popular species in MN’s Otter Tail County. Keep in mind that most gamefish species sexually mature at about the same age as anglers consider them keepers: > Walleye: Typically about 6″ in length after their first year of growth. On average, a 14-15″ walleye (1 lb) is 4-5 yrs of age. A 20″ walleye (3 lbs) is usually 7-8 yrs of age. Walleyes in excess of 20 yrs of age have been documented in Otter Tail County. > Bluegills: In most lakes, bluegills don’t reach a “keeper” size of 7-8″ until they’re 6-8 yrs of age. > Black crappies: Most anglers consider a 10″ crappie a “keeper” and on average, a fish that long would be 5-6 yrs of age. > Bass: A 14-15″ bass (2 lbs) is on average 5-6 yrs of age. A 20″ bass (5 lbs) is approximately 10-12 yrs of age. > Northern pike: Typically reach an average length of 25″ (4 lbs) at 4-5 yrs of age. A 34″ pike (10 lbs) is 8-10 yrs of age. > Muskies: Can reach lengths of 50″ or more, which typically takes 15-20 yrs. > Lake sturgeon: Don’t sexually mature until they’re 20-25 yrs of age, and will have attained a length of 50-60″ or greater at that point.
  16. As i look outside at 11:30 pm thursday night i see maybe 1/4 inch to 1/2 on top of my deck with very light snow falling which is supposed to end by midnite. Friday high winds are expected to blow whatever is on the ground and cause blizzard like conditions.
  17. correct on the brushed, rain , icy sleet snow. The amount so far looks like the salt i put on my cob of corn.
