I can assure you the guide is intact on this old rod. Its a FLW branded rod sold by wallmart. I got it for a spare for my wife and of course i needed to try it out and was having a blast workin a muskie and proud she didnt break. My wife now uses it as her favorite instead of her ugly stick gx2. The way she flips the fish onto shore i hope she doesnt break the tip. Thats why i had her using the indestructable ugly stick before.

I used it all fall and caught muskie, smallies, walleye...... I root for the underdog and this rod gets the captain designation in my arsenal of low budget rods.

Be aware of the tiny coiled spring when taking apart the Ar assy and the V shaped spring that sits in the reel body above the lever switch. This V spring is under pressure and will pop out if the switch is activated. lt easilly comes out with use of yor fingers. I dont know if the AR assy with the roller bearings needs to be lubed. I always drop some Rem oil onto it and never had a problem in 3 years on all my reels and i use the ar often.

I catch alot of different species of fish by casting behind the concrete blocks and dragging the line and lure over the top of the block or around it. The 832 gets scruffed up and i watch it all day but never have i had to cut a section out untill i get home and get ready for next trip. The flouro gets scruffy and i will replace often with new snelled leader.
