The last time i did a real overnight fishing trip was in the calif delta in 2002 I took my jet boat out with a friend and went out to catch stripers or whatever would bite. Well i got lost in the dark and ended up anchoring up and fishing but the mosquitoes were so bad i had to take up smoking my friends cigaretts to try to keep them out of my face. It got so thick with skeeters that at midnite we quit fishing and each wrapped ourselves up in sleeping bags and tried to sleep. Come morning we got back to the ramp and a coupe months later i sold my beloved jet boat. It wasnt made for the delta and neither was I. I then took up gold mining in the Sierias and the rest is history.

I am going out this weekend back to the river dam, I will be bringing the wifes favorite fat head minnows and i am going to buy some nitecrawlers. We have been catching all species in the river on minnows but the brown bass are few and far between. We usually catch a couple each but just hand size lately. I am just curious to put a crawler on the ballhead jig with a bobber and see what bites compared to the minnows.

I was stationed for a year in the Aleutians on the island of Adak Alaska, lots of WWII history on Adak. Maybe i walked some of the same places he did as i was always on my off days down by the old docks, piers and barracks which were no longer being used but full of abandoned history.

I as a life long Greenbay Packer fan from the Bart Starr days watching them on tv and for baseball a life long Baltimore Orioles fan from the days of Brooks Robinson watching them on saturday afternoon baseball, I would have to choose to see the Orioles win the world series. I was stationed in Adak Alaska in 1983 listening to the world series between them and the Phillies on the Armed Forces radio network. It has been so long since 1983, 40 years that i wonder if i will ever see them even participate in another series.

A good 10 days ago here in Fargo ND i was outside replacing a power steering belt on my car when a storm came through. A little rain was projected and then this happened, it was coming down in sheets so i grabbed a bunch of blankets, coveralls and a shop coat from the garage and threw it on the car, with the wife helping me and laughing as the nuggets were bouncing off my bald head and yes they hurt. The wind was very strong and drove the hail sideways so i did get a few dimples on the drivers side.

Wife and I hit the dam in Lisbon N.D today. Bought a scoop of fatheads to do some bobber jig fishin for smallies and walleye. I had a very fun day full of some great fighting fish. I caught this Buffalo head fish and it was a nice battle, I played him so as to not break off and he oblidged. Then i caught some white bass and they were scrappy fellas and some wallaye thrown in to take home. I then hooked into this welterweight fighter, this catfish i tell ya they really have some muscle. I hooked 3 of them this size today on a bobber, jig, minnow, they get hooked nicely in the very corner of the mouth and though not huge cats when ya get them close to shore they turn and roll and take off for another run, great fighting fish. We arrived home at 12:30 am.
