  2. hello Daubs, in my experience, overspooling my spinning reels always causes me problems with wind knots and so i end up stripping line off and cussing myself out.
  3. Quail eggs are very popular in the Philippines, i dont know where they are originating from but everyone from street vendors, sellers on bikes, and grocery stores are selling them.
  4. I Have some extra egg layers, i can deliver for cheap if you want, yes they are alive and well.
  5. I will stick to duck eggs myself.
  6. fargo nd is 16 inches below normal for this time of year.
  7. Heated blankets are the ticket for me. I bought a really thick plush one 2 years ago and level one is perfect when its above freezing but level 2 is used when its 15 degrees or colder. Level 3 and higher is like a pizza oven. The heat from the blanket keeps my whole body warm and i believe it helps keeps my joints loose through the nite.
  8. back in the 60,s i used to leave big hints on what i wanted, such as taking the sears toy catalog and leaving it on my bed next to me when sleeping with it open to the page with the toy i wanted circled. My dad back then made $60.00 a week working full time and looking back at my age now i feel like such a fool wasting his money on stupid plastic junk. BAH HUMBUG
  9. best wishes for your dad.
  10. You probably have a few in your freezer i would geuss.
  11. Today is that thursday @gimruis here in fargo nd. Gonna breakout the Bobcat later today as its still snowing here at 10.00am until 4pm. My dad bought the bobcat new in 1975 and with its gear driven transmission with a geared transfer case reducer this blower has power, just 1 forward and 1 reverse gear, the 2nd stage paddle thrower is also gear and chain driven. I also have my other snow thrower for backup.
  12. Some of you members knew i would put this up, i couldnt resist, but yes there is protien in these buggers, Alot of skinny natives in Thailand.
  13. I tried at the age of 3, Schlitz was my favorite.
  14. Living in the phillipines sleeping in a grass nipa hut on a bamboo floor i put a loaf of bread next to me where i slept so if i get hungry i can just grab a slice not needing light to find the bread. Well i woke up pitch black in the room and opened up the bread and grabbed a slice, as i chewed the bread my mouth started to feel like when you put your tongue on a 9 volt battery to test it. I jumped for the light switch to find my bread was covered over by red fire ants, i had allready swallowed most of it. Nothing happened to me, didnt get sick and my mouth was fine but i lost my loaf of bread.
  15. I like my gravel in the morning, add milk and sugar to eliminate the rocky aftertaste.
  16. Yes i to used the magnetic heater on my honda civic untill i put a block heater in it. I couldnt leave the magnetic heater on the oil pan when using the car as the ground clearance was a major problem.
  17. good luck my friend
  18. Well if ya have to you can light a small fire under the oil pan to warm the oil for easier starting. When i worked at service stations after school in the 70,s in fargo nd and the weather in the winter got serious cold is when our wrecker made money picking up frozen cars. Remember back then most cars had no fuel injection, just the pump the pedal to the floor 1 time and then hold half throttle and pray the choke set itself properly. We used kerosean torpedo heaters set in front of the vehicles to thaw them out, most times a battery was needed and the vehicle was flooded. We installed many block heaters on the frozen cars and changed the oil to a winter weight and always checked and replaced the old anti freeze. One more thing that needed replacing was the interior core heater that were usually plugged so no heat in the car. Back in those days the core heaters were easy to replace, usually took me an hour not like todays vehicles where its a 1,000.00 job to tear the dash out to get to them.
  19. Yes its in the garage connected to the house but the garage isnt heated.
  20. I only plug in for 2-4 hours the day of use if its under 25 degrees F as i usually start my day at mid afternoon. I am using my dads 2002 Chevy Trailblazer 4x4 which has a 4.2 straight 6 and that engine takes 7 quarts of oil, thats alot of 5w-30 oil running around in a cold block. Gets the heater workin a bit faster also. This truck only has 94000 miles on it and no rust, the thing weighs curb weight 4500 lbs and after filling up gas in the cold in town i am gettin 12 miles a gallon in this 15 above to -10 degree weather. Thing is built like a tank.
  21. Cleaning out the rafters and garage i found some 1980,s new old stock of boxed 1/64 scale Ertl tractors, backhoes.... so i bring them to the pawn shop and this place is heavy in old toys and the guy says that no collectables are selling as in the past as no one has money to blow. He said my ertls were kool but he has 50% off on all his collectables now and still not moving much, I asked him how are his Funko Pops selling and he said that craze is well over and he cant get rid of the ones he has.
  22. VA asked if i want shingles shot that i promised myself 1 year ago i would get but blew it off. So i got the shot and feel like complete crap with fever, headache....Glad i did it though.

  24. isnt Zach on the broncos? I watched the jets just to see Rodgers play and actually hoped he would have a good run but the jets are still the jets from the Rich Kotite years.
