  1. I just wrote with someone from "japantackle" who told me that there were already some inquiries from people regarding a deeper spool and they are planning to manufacture one in the near future. If someone knows if theres one already, then I`m also interested.
  2. Hey guys, Recently I heard from a Spool-Manufacturer that they plan to build an even deeper Spool for the Steez CT to have increased Line Capacity for heavier mono/fluo or Braid. If this really is technically possible, how would a deeper spool affect the performance on the Steez CT? The reel is capable of throwing lures up to 1oz even though most people use it for finesse applications. Would this affect the casting distance drastically on lures bt 3/8 and 7/8oz? Or what are the downsides of an upgrade like this? Does anybody know? Best Florian
  3. At the moment I´m using Sunline SUPER PE 8braid. Never had any issues with 8braid, even though most people prefer 4braid or 6braid in Europe for baitcasting reels. (not sure if this braid is available in the US) Its interesting. Americans tend to fish way heavier Braids in general than Europeans. I got a 20lbs Sunline SUPER PE in my basement, I can easily put in on the Steez CT. A Bass-Pro here in Europe mentioned that he believes that 20lbs Braid is a bit Stiff for lures up to 7/8oz and might affect the action of the baits I fish. I dont really believe so, when seeing a lot of you guys in the US fishing 30lbs Braid on a MH Rod. Thats what I also thought. It fits about 120 yards of 15lbs braid. I was using it on a way lighter Rod before. Lately I read that it can easily handle baits up to 1oz and is built for that "versatile" performance. After that I wanted to hear some opinions or even find someone who uses the Steez CT on a MH rod. I really prefer the CT over previous Steez models and would enjoy keep using it also for my little heavier Rod, without breaking it.
  4. Thank you guys, there are actually 2 lakes in Austria with Bass in it. Probably someone brought them here from somewhere else. If I do serious bass fishing, I usually did it in spain. Most of the time I have to fish for northern pike, zander, perch and catfish.
  5. Some more opinions from anyone here? Would love to hear from someone fishes a Steez CT on a 1oz Rod.
  6. Hey thank you for your reply! Thats what I hoped for, dont want to fish another reel since I bought the Steez CT. Regarding the braid: At the moment i use PE1.5 Braid which sits at 16lbs - the spool capacity for heavy braid is pretty limited on the Steez CT, so 40lbs Braid wont be possible though. At the moment I fit about 100 meters of 16 lbs braid on it. I feel like 20lbs or 25lbs at most will be the max I can put on it. Especially when hooking bigger fish I feel like 80 meters of line can be valuable, whats you take here?
  7. Hey Guys, I am from Vienna in Austria/Europe and 28 years old. I´m fishing on a regular bases since 20 years. Most of the time for Northern Pike, Perch, Zander and Trouts. In the last years I also did a lot of european bass fishing. I am a huge Tackle nerd and love high end tackle. Most of the time I fish Chatterbaits, Dropshot rigs, cranks and topwater baits in heavy cover. Also I am travelling a lot recently (because of work) and try a lot of different fishing techniques, also fly fishing. My Current setup (which I fish most of the time) are: Megabass Triza F2 + Daiwa Steez CT SV Megabass Triza F5 + (I am looking for a reel here, opened a thread to discuss if the steez CT would also fit here - i love this reel haha) Hope to have a nice chat with you guys and always open to learn something new from the bass community here! All the best Florian
  8. Hey Guys, I’m new to the Bassresource, but was reading a lot of posts in the past. Lately a question was bothering me a lot and I hope to get the expertise on this topic from a few of you guys. (I’m from Europe, so excuse me if there a some mistakes in my grammar) On to the question: As I’m travelling a lot recently workwhise and had to invest in some Travel Fishing gear I’m looking to cut down what I take with me for my trips. I currently use a Megabass Triza F2 1/8-1/2oz with a Daiwa Steez CT, which works perfectly fine. As I really love the MB Triza-Series I recently bought the Megabass Triza F5 3/8-1oz to handle the heavier lures. I came across a lot of Lakes and Rivers lately which I would have loved to fish for some northern pike/Zander, which is why I purchased a MH-Rod. As I love the Steez CT in every aspect and I want to keep my luggage as minimal as possible, I thought of purchasing an extra spool with heavier braid for the Steez CT - for the MH rod. Do you guys think the Steez CT fits well on a 1oz Megabass Rod? I would like to use it for Topwater, some 3/8-1/2oz chatterbaits and lighter Swimbaits. Thought of using 15-20lbs braid on the MH-Rod. Probably the Reel would have to work up to 7/8oz in total. What’s your opinion here? Which line strength would you choose and do you see the Steez CT capable of doing the job here? Thank you in Advance!
