  1. Megabass IXI furious 0.5 OSP Blitz SSR
  2. Depends on what swimbait and what rod/reel but I'd say 16-20 LB, retie very often.
  3. Has anyone tried fishing with a swollen RES? Wonder what kind of action theyd have and if theres risk of it blowing up
  4. Most bass rods I prefer a 2500 size reel but since you are talking about a medium heavy spinning rod I would go with a 3000 size shallow spool with 1.5 gou braid to 8-10lb fluoro leader
  5. Nice fish! that spot looks familiar
  6. That is one fun looking boat, wish they were a little more affordable. Always wanted a RIB.
  7. What is the viper head you describe shaped like?
  8. Alot of the JDM shops offer free shipping over a certain threshold. I usually just wait until I need enough tackle to hit the threshold before I order.
  9. Looking over the replies it looks like a lot of people missed the part where you said you didn't want creature bait suggestions. I'm assuming this means you want something with a baitfish profile. There are lots of paddletails on the market but they all are very similar so I'm not sure you will find much of a difference or improvement going to a paddletail other than what you have been using. However I have a couple suggestions that will give you a different action but in the same profile. Imakatsu 3" Huddle Swimmer- small profile soft pIastic baitfish with the same tail as the fullsize huddle swimmer Imakatsu Fat Fly Elastomer(2.8")- Similar tail design but different profile and buoyant because of the elastomer, this will give you a different action and allow you to retrieve it significantly slower without it sinking to the bottom Issei 3" Liar minnow- Jointed soft plastic baitfish with a subtle action and a tail that can be modified to have a completely different more erratic action You can find all of these from thehookuptackle but they can be had for significantly less if you order them directly from japan
  10. Hmmm, lets see. I would like to get two new kayaks this year. Want a new frog rod/heavy junk rod, a light ultra finesse spinning rod for sub 5G presentations. Evergreen kaleido spiderspin. One of the new daiwa certates. I've kind of lost interest in hardbaits for the time being. So as far as lures go mostly softbaits/terminal tackle. I want to get my jig/trailer setup dialed in and want to start learning chatterbaits so different chatterbaits and trailers. I also started BFS recently so would like to try some various BFS worthy baits. Would also like to get a high end ultralight for crappie/creek smallies before the spawn starts.
  11. I've never been able to get a bass on a spoon
  12. Weightless 5" senkos, and other weightless plastics that are harder to cast on a medium heavy, also a perfect rod for soft plastic jerkbaits
  13. Post pictures of your first bass this year and what you caught it on, if you dont have pictures just tell us about it. Heres mine, caught it on OSP maxsalt dice rubber on a size 2 owner mosquito light hook fished weightless
  14. What lure/presentation are going to go with under these conditions? Clear water, sunny, post frontal, 50 degree water temperature, no wind. Fishing from the shore, mostly rock/mud bottom, shallow to steep drop off some brush. My usual spot has been this way a lot lately and I am not sure what to fish. I've had some success in the past fishing small weightless plastics or ned rigs but want to try something different. There were numerous monsters swimming around in the shallows just before sunset tonight in 2-3' water.
  15. I think hes talking about the new steez which hasn't been sold yet to my knowledge. It actually has a 32MM spool. Not sure about frame size as it is actually a new frame.
