  1. ...? Anyway, welcome!
  2. Really, what can you recondition on a rod??? At best you can clean and refill the cork and replace a tip top or guide. This is pure speculation but I'd have to guess these are either warranty returns that had the above done or they might even be rods that didn't pass QC on the build. Or just glue on a tip top where it broke. :-/ Now that I followed the link, I see... Why not be honest? So what I think I "see" are broken rods from a seemingly dishonest seller... I'd avoid these like the plague. The seller has a 100% positive feedback rating, all for broken kistlers best I can tell. You don't see this with Shimano, Daiwa, etc... Just kind of weird.
  3. Why do I see so many of these things... Does Kistler have very bad shipping methods? Why don't I see other rods being sold on ebay as "reconditioned to factory specs"? Has anyone purchased one? http://cgi.ebay.com/KISTLER-MAGNESIUM-TELSC-ALL-DAY-FLIP-PITCH-MgADFPSH78T_W0QQitemZ130132166211QQihZ003QQcategoryZ36149QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  4. What knot were you using? Braid slips easily, a palomar knot is a must... I've used braid for a long time now, and have never broken it with a fish. My biggest snook, 44" 26lbs, was caught w/ 10lb power pro...
  5. Interesting thread, anybody care to comment on the fish in my avatar? Fish had a huge freakin' head.
  6. I really like those new reel seats.
  7. When those things first came out all I could think was "lost crankbait".
  8. Looks like it was a decent day. I'd take a guess at the weight of the biggun' but just can't be sure.
  9. I would do as others suggest and purchase the Trion. I own a Summit (great reel), a President (great reel), and will probably drive a Supreme before long. I am really impressed with Pfluegers lately.
  10. Same here. Nice fish.
  11. Nice. Great day.
  12. Nice fish btw Avid. My best today was 1.5 at most.
  13. I've got a few Zara Spooks in my box, don't catch fish because I just don't fish them. For that matter, I've got a LOT of tackle I don't fish.
  14. It's so hot now that the majority of my outings start @ 8pm. I'll do the early mornings but I'm spent by 9am.
  15. Are you fishing in conditions where you can't watch your line or keep the line taught? I'm not understanding why you're allowing the fish so long with the bait... Avid, I've still managed to gut hook bass w/ circle hooks. I use them exclusively when livebaiting saltwater. I don't normally livebait bass, but have used shiners a handful of times in my life, and used them then. Another thing to think about is mashing your barbs down.
  16. While I don't know for sure, I HIGHLY doubt it.
  17. Ah, black bantams, I was thinking curados for some reason. I remember those reels, I had one.
  18. I've learned that the guys at Bass Pro and Cabela's don't always give the best advice, with that being said, I definitely don't think it's a waste of time, especially if you're fishing clear water.
  19. Can you post a pic? The memory isn't working well today...
  20. I read an article some time back re: bed fishing... It stated that bass do not face the sun when on the bed. Perhaps this is the article you were talking about?
  21. Did you use it on any other surfaces other than aluminum? I'm thinking that this is the way to go, but does it stick to wood okay? I'm really wanting to go all out with the decking, like hatches, rodlocker etc.
  22. I love the vinyl flooring idea. I'm looking at that walnut color and the gears are spinning wildly. Would probably be a pain if hatches were involved. Maybe not. Cool, I got what I was looking for. Great forum.
  23. Yeah, I don't really care for stank hands after handling bait. I've been slaughtering them lately off of Zoom Ol' Monster worms... No nasty stank involved.
  24. Alright, so I ripped the deck out of my 1544 G3 w/ the hope that having to fish out of it barebones would force me into redecking it. It has. However, I am really looking forward to possibly using a different material other than carpet on the decks. I'm in florida, and I track a lot of sand in the boat, and the carpet I had on the boat just held it all in. Anybody have any ideas? I've thought about a 1/4" layer of starboard over the plywood, but am not sure if that's the way to go.
  25. We sell these at my store. I personally own Costas, but the Natives seem to be quality frames/lenses. I think that they are a lower price point then Costas, is this correct?
