Braid is not mandatory, but recommended. Personally I wouldn't worry about line visibility. After all you are towing a yard rake through the water. lol
How many fish do you catch on a bait before it gets lost, broken, or retired? I have heard of spinnerbaits breaking after 10 fish, but I have never had one break. If a wire bait was to break, how many fish would you have to catch on it to make it worth while? 10, 30, 50?
Throw a jig, you can swim it, drag it, and hop it. On my small ponds right now I'm flipping jigs and plastics into visible shore line cover, and running shallow cranks parallel to the bank.
You can't go wrong with H2O Mettle reels and Ethos rods. If you are wanting a spinning outfit the new H2O spinning reels are really nice too. All in all for the price you can't beat any of the H2O products.
I was looking at mine and noticed it only had the 1 double footed guide, I'd much rather have 3. The paint chipping and pealing is getting to look nasty too. I may have to make a trip, maybe exchange for a Carbonlite.
I initially started out trying to hook it upside down with the hook hiding in the belly, I had lots of bites and never once got a hook up. I even posted a a question about it a few years back on here. I turned the hook around and rigged it with the hook bend hiding in the belly a skin hooking the hook on the top and viola' instant success. I have also experimented with nose hooking using a circle hook that is also extremely effective.
I only use a leader in clear water, and honestly I've stopped doing that since I found Invisibraid. If you are fishing murky or stained water, I wouldn't worry one bit about using straight braid with no leader. If the water is clear (3-5ft or greater) go with a leader or Invisibraid.
Awesome, I'm glad you like the way it looks and feels. Once you get it dialed in you'll love the way it works as well. Just remember, (that to me anyways) to cast smoothly, the spool is so fast you can get into trouble trying to force more out of it.
I have one, used to have 2. The clear coat was peeling on the one I got rid of, but that was because a guide broke so they exchanged it. Now the other one is peeling as well, just waiting for a guide to break
I use the Spider Wire Invisibraid and while it's very visible above the water once it's about 8 inches below the surface, it disappears. However, I will say that I would not recommend using it in stained or dirty water because the line will stain, then it is visible in clear water. Stick with clear water applications with this line or use a leader after you've used it in dirty water.
You can get them at Tackle Warehouse. If you do end up getting one, I would appreciate it if you would like Pinnacle Fishing on Facebook and tell them about me helping you.
thanks,

Also feel free to add me as well, I would love to hear what you think about it and answer and questions you may have in the future.
