  1. Sorry I didn't post my set up or how I was setting the hook. Set up is a 7'6" MH Ethos with a 7.1:1 Menace 30lb braid to 15lb fluoro leader. Baits used were super hog, lizard, worm, etc. Hook set was sweeping to the side. I have seen numerous videos and read articles about fishing the rig, but my lack of connection really had me wondering. The only thing I can think of that I was doing different was my partner was using some sort of scent. Maybe that was all the difference in the world. I asked him about the tap tap bites and thought they were blue gills, he promptly told me they were bass and to set the hook on anything I felt. He brought back in a lot of half eaten baits through out the day, but he also caught fish all day long.
  2. I watched the video, it didn't seem to answer any questions I had. I used a 2ish foot leader, water was around 57*, hard bottom.
  3. I fished a tournament yesterday and the C-rig was about the only thing that was working. The problem with that is I had never fished one before. My partner caught fish all day long, I only caught 2. I missed a dozen fish and broke a big one off. What is the secret to making those misses into fish in the boat? My partner said I was using the wrong type of hook, is that possible? I was using an Trokar 3/0 EWG light wire hook. It seemed like all of my bites were really fast and aggressive, it was a quick hard tap tap, reel down set the hook and nothing. What was I doing wrong?
  4. Go with the 7' like LMG said Abu is notorious for being a bit stiffer than their rating. I have that same rod, but original Vendetta and it's a work horse.
  5. Sounds like you need to fish with some stilts on Jigfishn10
  6. Abu Garcia Veritas 7' M micro guide, this thing goes with me every single time. It is so versatile I can't afford not to take it. I can throw cranks of all sizes, jigs up to 3/8oz, t-rigs, jerk baits, spinnerbaits. This rod is definitely not a one trick pony.
  7. Thanks for the invite, signed up and ready to go!
  8. And I bet the only duck in your house stays in the bath with the kids. lol
  9. Who says I didn't
  10. Skeet Reese W&M reel, bought one on my way to the lake, spooled it up and on my first cast it exploded! The gears locked up and the side plate fell off into the water. Junk!
  11. I will root for Kreit since I personally know him, but it looks like Ish has been able to adjust the quickest and excel once he finds out what to do. Should be a great last 2 episodes.
  12. I'm in! Let me know the details.
  13. 7'6"H Vengeance 65lb 832 Suffix on a BPS Pro-Lite 1/8oz heads all the way around with Big Bite Baits 4 inch Cane Thumpers
  14. Big Bite Cane Thumper
  15. Excellent tip! Also try using a tad bit lighter action rod that loads well. Several pros will skip docks with M-MH rods not the H that you may expect. I believe the reason for this is to generate rod bend to create speed with less effort. Combine that with the tape idea, and I think you will be set.
  16. I liked Mark Davis pro bass fishing for PS2. It seemed the patterns were pretty accurate as well as presentations to catch fish. The Strike is not bad on the Wii my son can catch fish on it, so he like it.
  17. Found a baby turtle once, but I don't think I'll be throwing any type of turtle lure anytime soon. lol
  18. Loosen your spool tension so you can create high velocity with minimal effort. If you tighten it you will just be trying that much harder to get your jig back to the spots you want it.
  19. Has to be the Pop-R in any color
  20. Through out the whole show they have been talking about that lake being a huge small mouth lake. The few that have been caught have all been big. I think the smallest one that has been weighed was just over 2lbs. Would have been nuts if someone had found a school and cracked the wright limit in 10 casts.
  21. Did I just hear conspiracy?
  22. Sam you aren't finding it because it is a Thin-N not a little- N. It's a great bait I have several, caught my biggest bass so far this year on one.
  23. it was a toad, and he flipped it in the boat. No carpet on the landing. lol
  24. Tuffline was my first guess as well
