  1. Personally, I think GY senkos just have superior action because of their one-of-a-kind balance of salt. That being said, certain lakes that are muddier or less pressured may see no difference whatsoever if you use a senko imitation. I have found the Yum Dinger to be far more durable than the senko, and have often been able to reuse the same one for fish after fish. The other think you can try (if you are weightless texas rigging) is to rig the senko backwards when the head breaks. (I thought this sounded totally stupid when I first heard it, but tons of people in the know seem to be doing it) Just rig it with the skinny end in the front and fish it normally.
  2. Well one thing I think is still important regardless of whether color or patterns really affect whether a bass will strike or not is confidence. I think, at least for heavy cover fishing where bass clearly can't see the bait nearly as well as you might think, the color does have the purpose of creating a habit or confidence as irrational as it may be. Insofar as my own experiences color has played some role in my confidence, making me fish a certain way for longer or in more places. They may have a small brain, but we don't (well maybe I do lmao). Also, live bait is a little to simple, and takes some of the fun out of fishing. Overthinking has some upsides, because we're also fickle creatures.
  3. They already released it for the brazilian market I think. They announced it on the brazil instagram page
  4. Personally, I use braid to fluoro religiously on the dropshot (and many other techniques) because it really gives incredible sensitivity that other line can't seem to have. That being said, tying leaders can be a hassle especially in snaggy areas (my main experience with relentless snags is castaic dam). The first thing I would recommend would be to make your leader longer so that when you go to retie it isn't too short. (If your entire leader is breaking off, use an RP knot which seems to always be stronger than the palomar that attatches your hook) You could also experiment with cover shot hooks like the roboworm rebarbs which are excellent. If your weight is getting snagged, just use lead and lightly clip it instead of tying it. Hope this helps.
  5. Is there a good place to fish Clear Lake from shore? Going to be in Ukiah for the next several weeks and was wondering about fishing another lake besides my typical Lake Mendocino.
  6. I haven't fished at clearlake recently but have been fishing at lake pillsbury which is not too far away, and the bite is on fire there. I caught a 7.5, a 4.5, and 5 3s in a few hours there on monday.
