Where can I try for some Smallmouth and Walleye near Lancaster?
I have been going to the Falmouth Boat Launch recently but have only been getting a single Walleye after 3-4 hours from the bank each time.
I just recently purchased a Daiwa Procyon rod and I enjoy it so far.

It costs $80 and it feels great / looks great. I have it paired with a Daiwa Legalis LT which was $70.
I also own a Duckett Silverado which has been working great but I actually prefer the cork handles in comparison to the handles on the Silverado.
At least one of the two should be a Medium Heavy ~7' rod with a ~7 gear ratio.
In regards to a second setup, you have two ways of approaching this. What I personally did is get a duplicate setup so that I can have two lures/rigs tied up so I can switch easily on the water.
The other approach is to get a completely different set up to cover techniques that the other rod may not handle as well. You could either go to a lighter Medium with a reel like a Tatula SV to handle lighter lures or get a heavy rod that you can use for frogging and big swimbaits.
I would recommend Medium Heavy. Your spinning setup will cover your lighter lures and techniques so you can dedicate your baitcasting setup to Texas Rigs, jigs, top water frogs and spooks, etc.
Here are some options you should consider.
Rods
- Duckett Silverado | $99
- Dobyns Fury | $119
- Shimano SLX | $99
- Daiwa Aird X | $54.99
Reels
- Daiwa Fuego CT | $109.99
- Daiwa Tatula CT | $129.99
- Shimano SLX | $99.99
- Shimano Curado K | $179.99
When I was upgrading my Silver Max, I was between the Pfleuger President and the Daiwa Regal LT since they are the same price.
Both were nice but I went with the Daiwa because it felt a little higher quality and I appreciate that Daiwa produces their own products as opposed to ordering from Doyo and other manufacturers like Lews or Pflueger.
This is what I currently have is you're curious.

Yep! Fast on my Duckett Silverados seem to be a good action for most of my fishing. There are times where moderate or a parabolic action would be "optimal", especially if you're fishing in a tournament for money, but I don't really have issues using a fast action across the board.
I have two MH baitcasters and two M spinning rods and that covers all the techniques I use fairly well. I use the baitcasters for texas rigs, chatterbaits, jigs, swimbaits, top waters, and the spinning rods for ned rigs, weightless plastics, and light crankbaits.
I was recently in the market for a new reel and I was between the Dawia Regal LT and the Pflueger President. I purchased the Daiwa Regal LT and I am loving it. Feels solid, retrieve is very smooth, and it's not a bad looking reel either.
My current lineup. The only difference is that I replaced the Silver Max in the third setup with a Daiwa Regal LT 3000 as seen in later pictures.
