I’m a little late to this thread, but I still had to post cause I am shocked at the forum’s collective memory and/or at how many really young guys we must have here (like younger than me @ 34). I’ve been out of the game for about 7-10 years till April/May of this year when I dusted off my Shimano Crucial rod and Stradic reel I bought around 2013-14 and only used for 2 seasons. The setup is still like new.
Anywayssss, 10 years ago Quantum was regarded as being real high end equipment with every component costing at least twice as much as an equivalent component from pretty much most other top notch manufacturers. It was literally like Cadillac vs Chevy at least as far as pricing went. You’d see someone with any type of full Quantum setup that wasn’t some entry level combo from Walmart and you’d automatically think “wow, they’re balling out over here.” Sad to find out that they barely even exist only 10 years later…
