  1. Hale, Exactly what I expect. Companies ask for quarterly or annual reports when you send them in you get no response. (Am I doing enough for you) I can not promote your company without samples and literature. Give me something that allows you to track any sales I am sending your way. Promo codes, coupons etc. Sellable products I am in a Northern market which does not get the tv exposure or the actual tournaments rollong through town. I truly believe companies can use mid level anglers to promote at grass roots level. The campany can put product ad literture out at a local level and monitor how well your "prostaffer" is doing by tracking his efforts with promotional codes and redeemable coupons. What better wat to get your name out there then offering a coupon for free decals or Hats t shirts etc (I mean cool ones, not the kind that get hung in the garage) with a purchase. I may take a break from chasing sponsors and just focus on fishing. If I can't do it right I won't do it. Don't work for free!!!!!
  2. What an idiot. And he did this on national TV. I wonder what he does with no cameras. Illegal, stupid, and dangerous. They should pull his pro status for a while to send a message to other likeminded individuals. I have had similar thing happen to me on a local lake. Guy cut throgh about seven boats not as close but still an idiot. People and actions like this give bass anglers a bad name , Bubba stauts etc. My guess is no cameras no apologies. He als lied saying the other angler waved him through. I never saw that on the tape .
  3. Can I tow a 20 foot glass tandem trailer a long way 400plus mile
  4. Need to tow a 20 foot skeeter (glass) can a f150 with a six do it. I am talking trips from 50 miles regularly and 600 plus 2-3 times ayear
  5. I have an opportunity with a local truck Dealer. Does anyone have a Vehicle sponsorship deal. I am not looking for a free ride but a discont in return for promotion at tournys and shows. If you have a similar deal let me know I need to know how to structure it so it is beneficial for the dealer and myself. Please email me with suggested plan of action. slsail@Yahoo.com
  6. Ranger 1 Last I checked Crown tackle charged for the opportunity to be on his "prostaff" and purchase his products. I think it was 50-100$. Good Luck
  7. Ifishflorida Maybe you were so well camo ed ad your decoys looked really real. I agree some people are just idiots
  8. Good points. IFrom the other side I have started down the sponsorship road basically discounts and product. I have been contacted by some. The problem is lack of support. I have a tournament or seminar coming up with an opportunity to get their product, catalogs out and They don't come through with literature much less product.. Also as regional anglers, you in reality, do not get the Medisa exposure like the Big Boys on ESPN. Much of my / our promotion is one on one. I often direct clients/customers to a sponsors product via catalog or website. The Sponsor has not set up anyway to track how many new customers I have generated. I Have invested time is sponsors that just do not follow through with support. So I move on. If I were a company and had a opportunity to market my product I would jump at it. Remeber most anglers at our levels are given discounts. So for giving product to a guy at cost he promotes my company. I wouls also give him discount vouchures for him to hand out. thus created traffic in my store, website etc. Many Smaller companies do not know how to use an individual who is willing to promote their company for basically nothing. The larger companies I believe in the past have gotten burned by being to generous. Basically scenario: Angler approchaces company A. I will wear your logo and speak, use and promote your product when possible. Company gives angler discount. Most companies stop here. Company A should say Here are discount cards. coupons, discount codes etc. to give to other angerls to get them to at least come to Co. A's store or try the product. This whole scenario really costs Company A nothing but in return reaches customers they would have never seen.

  10. If you haven't noticed there have been unbeleivable deals on boats on ebay. awesome looking bass boats. for $5800 of course it is a scam you can't see the boat but must send your money western union first. Lets have some fun with our Nigerian buddies. but if you catch one they are fun to play with, BUT DO NOT GIVE ANY OF YOUr PERSONAL EBAY INFORMATION. I had one of these dips on line for a hour and half. trying to convince him to let my friend who lived wherre the boat was suppose to be "stored" see the bot i was told he couldn't because of seurity reasons. Then I told him I wanted another friend to personally deliver the money to where he lived. It was quit fun and I hope I burned up much of his time. Lets do our part and pack these idiot scamers email accounts with what they think are buyers for the phoney ads they are posting.
  11. Practice, practice. I think the trick is not to have the trailer to farin the water or to fat out of the water. once you find that optimal trailer location remember at what point the trailer is in the water. Mine is when the fenders are just under water. (works for most ramps) steeper ramps I have a different benchmark. Then I drive it up until I hit my large (roller ot the winch. I load and unload faster than guys with two people trying to help. I often get comments on Man is that fast. It is just practice and paying attention to haw far your trailer is backed it to the water. The rear of the boat is still floating above the trailer when it is hooked to the winch then I ease it out until it settles in the trailer good luck and practice. Go practice in and out when the ramp is not very busy
  12. Ok John I should not have given away our secret tactic. I have won a few like that also. I have a lake here where i can go to the same couple of boats every tourny and pull keepers. The reel trick is to what toons to pass and what ones to target. I will keep that a secret for now
  13. Skipping big jigs and weighted tubes can be done with baitcasters. Works great for overhangs on the shoreline. If you want to skip weightless baits senkos and 1/16 oz tubes a Spinn outfit is tough to beat. I love skipping pontoon boats with a tube on a spinning rod you can skip the length of the boat and work the full 20 feet. tough to do with a baitcaster. more of a mechanics/ geometry/ physics issue than skill. Tubes are great starter/ learning lures then advance from there. (heavier and bulkier) The short rods give you a definite advantage in tight quaters. But if you can control the boat a seven footer gives you the leverage and mechanical advantage to turn the bigger fish and get then out into open water before they rap you around something
  14. spinning rod, 14lb test, stren original, prtice, practice, practice. do not under estimate boat control and wind. If you do the perfect skip, but the boat drifts by time the fish picks up the bait you can get handcuffed and have a problem on your hand Anyone can skip ,but to skip as far as you want and where you want takes practice
  15. Man I thought J T was doing an Angler extreme make-over I could have come up with a real hard luck story.
  16. What is a good wife? Someone who lets you go fishing anytime you want?
  17. :-/Question of the week Is Bass fishing more luck or Skill. Try to stay away from the "it's Both" answer. What do you think is the more important and why?

  21. I will be doing a tourny on sout ohio in ywo weeks been watching the weather basically 40050s I will assume the water will be in the low 50's where would you all start. last yeat i found some big one in shallow water water was 61 this year i am thinking staying on deep weed edges your thoughts please
  22. Interesting concept. I pay you $50 to promote your product? Application Download button doesn't work on website
  23. I have done this with great sucess a couple of times. I have paint on my hands as we type I am redoing my tracker. Do not use any hardware or super store paint. It can get costly so this is your first decision. Arrumming the boat has no paint you need to prep it. 1.Palm sand with paper 220 to 600 grit. just to get the crap off it. 2. This is the most important part. But what is called atching primer (automotice paint supplier) spray any and all aluminumsufaces to be painted. 3.Get the approipriate primer the paint store guys can help. rough up with 400git before applying paint. then buy the paint, if you want a gloss finish without buffing you must tell them that also. there are additives to harden an gloss the paint. products cost about $120. If you wantthe paint to stick you have to use the etching primers. goodluck
  24. how do I post my pic in the profile
