  1. I make my own
  2. My pattern story. 2 yr ago I was on an annual fishing trip. This year had a swampy flat for LMB & northern pike. 3rd day out we hadn't yet had a bite until I pulled into faster water with a topwater frog and the water erupted with densely packed northern gators. So much addreneline. Lost 4 frogs on 50# mono leaders in 5 casts. But it lasted half an hour.
  3. I wont say he's wrong. But what if fish statistically prefer similar conditions in water. Makes sense then that patterns work. Not that I dont start my day as a junk fisherman
  4. Bearings are good. But I still like a quick & smooth spool that spins til infinity My 2 cents
  5. 4.5# smallie on spinning gear 4# smallie on fly gear
  6. Kistler helium is on sale at TW
  7. Hellgramites have a magic profile that smallies want. Like senkos, they just get bit. They can be rigged in every way I think.
  8. I love me some DT4. Do these hold a wobble in fast river current?
  9. I must agree. I'm on the river and nothing beats a big reel for line pickup
  10. Miravel is better but I've used the current Nasci for a season and it's a great reel. You'll be happy
  11. GMan is a carackter
  12. I'm a big fan but this shocked me a little bit.
  13. I'm up near Michigan. If your fishing colder than normal temps for your area then slow down. I like a 3/32 oz black marabou hair jig, it looks like a leech in the water. Be patient.
  14. I put those on hair jigs and marabou jigs all the time. I think they call them steelhead worms.
  15. My local river has alot of current and alot of smallmouth bass. I can pick it apart better from the bank than my canoe. My biggest last season was around 20" and a bit over 4#
  16. A #4 inline spinner will catch everything that swims or so I've heard.
  17. 6 ft MLF spinning with a 4" GP senko Edit - gear is a stC Triumph with a Daiwa BG3000 and 10# hi vis 832 to 6' of 12# mono leader on an FG knot
  18. 1979 Ariens ST724 We've had about 2 feet of snow so far. Edit - just removed another 8" and 6" more expected tomorrow
  19. That's a beautiful river minnow pattern.
  20. River fishing 90% of the time. So electronics wouldnt make difference.
  21. Elegy Bone for smallmouth
  22. I'm with you. My hat used to be purple, now its grey.
  23. Who doesnt love a double tail grub. And it sounds like something I could throw a bass streamer at. Flyrod or spinning gear if I can add a bit of lead.
  24. Haha, She needs ballast.
  25. My brother is in Calgary. Frost builds up on the nailheads that fasten the trim on his door and window jambs. It's like -30F this week.
