Just trying to get started fishing locally as I have a 5 and 7 year old to teach :) So far we have only found small bream and one 10-12" catfish. I would like to find some bass and trout if possible. I have had great success trout fishing in Arkansas with friends and on charters for Redfish, Speckled Trout and even Leopard Sharks, but mostly a novice who is willing to learn.
Nashoba Park / Chickfila Pond - We have fished the Southwest side of this pond a few times with wax worms and bobbers. We usually catch an okay number of small bream, but would like to find bass. Are there really gar in there too!? I have tried afew cast with top water lures, but no success yet. Is there a better spot or any tips? We only catch and release as half my family is allergic to all seafood.
Jones Pond at Shelby Farms - Tried it out yesterday. My youngest caught one good sized catfish on a gulp and wax worm with bobber around 9:30am. Any tips for catching trout?
Also tried Cameron Brown with same setup and same results of small bream.
