When water levels rise fish are dispersed to waters edge . Fish will found near grass on edge of lake . Hope this helps .

Now that it gets hot quick , I fish shallow . Slow fishing stick baits close to ramp . No time to waste . Sometimes don't even need to crank the outboard up . Productive so far .

Easy to forget to bring everything needed for a fishing trip , however it's also easy to forget to bring things back home . About 10 years ago I cartoped a small John boat , carried all needed inside the station wagon . My wife and I fished a small lake for the first time ,then headed back home . A week later loading up for another fishing trip and my beautiful fishing rods were gone . I remembered laying the rods on the ground when loading the boat on the roof , gathered all the rest of the stuff in the wagon , but I had forgotten the rods . Boy I called myself some really bad names when I realized what I had done.

So true. I have dozens of lures that have never been in the water . Seems like many fishermen do the same , we hesitate to not use the same favorite lures and tell ourselves we will experiment with the other lures some other day . Hard to believe but I am sure some of these lures have been in the tackle box for I don't know how many years and have never gotten wet .

The fish might be there but you may be missing them . A fast way to locate fish is go do some trolling . Throw marker when fish on , then check fishfinder screen history and also carefully study present finder screen to see if you can identify any fish on screen . If you can't identify fish on screen after doing that you may want to turn on fish ID mode to small fish setting and see what is under that boat that you may be misinterpreting. Hope this helps .

Thinking back on funny moments while fishing . Years ago my brother in law and I ran over a small mouse while moving the boat trailer .(not one mark on it) . Knowing his dad had a tackle box with his favorite lures the mouse . Naturally he put the mouse in one of his dads' compartments . Later in the day while fishing the Erie Canal the dad says outloud " it's time for my secret weapon , the mouse ." We both turned our backs away from the old man while he says " let's see what do I need now " ... silence .....then ,,,,you no good so in sos . We all cracked up laughing . They are both gone now but remembering the laughs we had that day still make me smile . Thanks

Sorry I took so long to get back to you. The wood is about 3 maybe 4ft long . Attach pedestal or swivel base by facing bolts up from under wood before screwing wood down. Lock wood base down useing flat strap of metal on top of wood. Bend down 90 degrees over side of aluminum base . Then bolt down with marine grade screws side and top . Then attach seat . Hope this helps.

I went to the marine store and bought screws that are for marine use . I don't remember size number . The board distributes your body weight nicely . I weigh 250 lbs and pedestal use not a problem .

This reminds that years ago while night fishing one guy needed to do # 1 . I handed him the Clorox bottle half and told him to help himself . Being it was dark we didn't see that the cap had fallen off . It went in one way and out the other .

Just screw down a 1×6 on top of the aluminum bench . Attach to that . My seats have been on for 7 years with no problems . Hope this helps .

Went fishing a few days ago and on the water just before 8:00 am . Catch two bass within 30 minutes and feel a bit warm and uncomfortable check the water temperature 86 degrees. By 9am another boater slowly comes by and says he was offshore and could not take heat heading to ramp. Any way the temperature here in Tampa hit 99 degrees and it's not even July yet . Wonder if fishing will be possible at all any more during the day the next 4 months . What a shame they had us in covid home lockdown when it was cool and let us out when it's 100 degrees. Lol

Listen to me , heed the warnings about the sun . I have scars all over my face and arms due to cancer removal . Don't look so handsome anymore .

I know the feeling . The water is really getting hot now and it's tough out there . Other than the chatterbait they should work . Try fishing shade , docks ,floating plants and bridges should be holding fish . Use fishfinder to find bait around bridge or docks and that should be best bet for success.

I find using the Ned Rig really frustrating. There is something about the TRD that keeps attracting turtles to the rig before the fish have a chance to bite . Nothing like having a really upset turtle hooked on your line while you try to remove jig with pliers without losing fingers. Lol

I was looking over the instruction booklet that came with some of my old and some of my newer fish finders and noticed for those that opt for fish Id mode ...you have small , medium and large fish symbols. What does that mean ? A small Great White or a large Bass ? Just random thought .

The timing of this post caught my eye . Just a few hours ago I told my wife that my next fishing trip I'm leaving my favorite rigs home and trying some of the many lures and techniques that I have available to me that I have never used . I have been thinking that I have so much confidence in the techniques I always used that I have stopped progressing . I know what I will be using are solid bass catching techniques that will be new to me.... and I am excited.

I know that many seasoned bass fishermen already know about how useful a skirt is when added to a lure . This article is for those who might want to try something that they might not be aware of , the many uses of a skirt when added to a lure. A great example of this would be when a person attaches let's say a keitech fat paddletail to a lead head jighead . You now have a lure that has great movement in the tail area and that is great ...but , if you add a skirt to the jighead , push it up , then add the paddletail ,you now have something new ,and different. The lure still has the tail action but a lot more. ...like a real fish it now has the entire body in movement ..a great thing . Another example is the use of a swim jig . It already has a skirt when you buy it so now add that same keitech as before and have a lure that has it all ,full body action and tremendous tail action . Experiment adding skirts to different things in the tackle box..you may surprise yourself with a new.. pb
