  1. I'm bass fishing and decided it's time to go finesse . I look at how thin # 6 lb or #8 lb line looks after having thrown that # 50lb braid . At that point I always think that I am about to really regret doing this . What if the bass of a lifetime strikes ? Will that drag function properly or will I kiss that lure and fish goodbye? .. Just thoughts , anybody else get that feeling or worse yet , actually have that happen ?
  2. Wow , summer heat must be cooking my brain . For the first time ever counted 5 spinning rods on the floor of my boat . Lol
  3. The easiest thing to do is to watch you tubes ...Fish The Moment . Everything about fishing deep is covered in those videos .
  4. I try not to leave anything in my boat when not in use . I do get careless sometimes , and that's not a good thing .
  5. I've seen seen many fish doing as you described only to see upon closer inspection to find they are carp or Plecos . Fish area as you normally would .
  6. You might try jigs with weed guards as a starter . Many frogs are weedless , as are Texas rigged baits . Good luck
  7. Best to calm down , let it alone for a day and try again . Is there anything that feels forced into position? Are there any thumb clickers you did not notice ? We have all been there and remember it's not always necessary to get into every single part of a reel when cleaning.
  8. I got lucky and found a hole between my bench seat and sidewall that stands my net upright behind my pedestal seat . Net comes in handy , avoids getting a lure embedded in hand when trying to lip bass . That would be a disaster.
  9. Only one and carry as many other lures as possible in pockets . That's in saltwater . Too many gators to wade freshwater down here .
  10. No , your good to go .
  11. If there is ..I haven't found it .
  12. They both are good producers, but I personally enjoy the swim jig strike more as it feels so explosive.
  13. Yes it feels terrible to lose any rod . I left 4 baitcasters at a lake 20 years ago put them down and forgot about them when loading up to leave . The one that bothers me the most was earlier this year when the rod slipped out of my hand when I went to sit down and as it fell towards the water I reached out and grabbed the handle but could not hold on . Tried several recoveries but never was successful . Like the bumper sticker says .." lt happens "
  14. Just bought Reaction Innovations Pocket Rocket in Green Punpkin . Looks good in reviews but I have only made a few cast with it .
  15. Mine was 4 days in a row bass fishing . Could not buy a bite . Finally went somewhere else to fish .
  16. You might contact your State Fish and Game Dept for that type of information .
  17. My Humminbird has caps . I can't imagine waiting an hour to use finder . Maybe something simple like maybe a plastic baggy might work . Good luck
  18. Ned rig Trd , beetle spin , and Yamamoto 5 inch thin wacky ridged senko.
  19. This time of year is tough , temperature heats up quick . Fish don't seem to react to lures the same way 2 days in a row . This is the time of year I read bass forums , try methods that I read about that I never tried , and buy some of the new lures that are new to the market . Hang in there and good luck .
  20. Tie lures day before fishing . Change too short leaders . Set drag on every rod ....then change my mind , change rods to different rods , change leaders and lures again .Wife undoubtedly will ask why I take forever getting ready to go fishing ...lol
  21. You actually have the convenience of being able to fish without needing a boat ramp and at the same time the comfort of a boat by owning a small jonboat.
  22. It's been good , but summer has been a challenge. Everything is finesse right now including the size of bass caught this summer.
  23. Caught fish on both but the strikes feel much more explosive on buzzbaits , seems to stir up anger in bass .
  24. I had a relative who would purposely cross the line of those that settled right on top of him when fishing a pier . He would apologize , tell them he would untangle the mess get a knife and cut ... their line . Not something that works for everyone, as he weighed 245 lbs. Lol
  25. Sometimes those fish that are busting the water are not the fish species we want (believe) them to be .
