  1. Happy Father’s Day to all. And that must be a typo. Isn’t every day National Go Fishing Day? ?
  2. On a TR, I normally cast to cover, work in back a bit, reel in and recast. If I’m working deeper water, I often work it back to the boat. And have caught bass right at the boat.
  3. I’ve said it before. I think BR is likely the best forum on the Internet. It’s the people who post, who reply and who moderates the site that make it what it is. So many great forums have become shells of their former selves or disappeared entirely as either the original owners of the site (or subsequent owners after a sale) lowered standards and raised costs or peppered the site with pop-ups due to only caring about the $$$$. With Glenn, that is not the case. Any other owner but Glenn and this site could become crap. In the end, it all comes down to Glenn. Great post, Katie!
  4. Unless you live in the sticks and there is no other option, why do people deliberately order from Dominos, Little Caesars, Pizza Hut, Papa John’s, etc. when there are so many better options? Is it price? It cannot be taste. At least I hope not! ?
  5. Fixed it for you!
  6. Lately a chatterbait has been producing for me. Very easy to cover a lot of water with one.
  7. I use 4” Senkos frequently. Normally weightless on a 3/0 EWG.
  8. You should have tested his beliefs by hiding a banana in his boat!
  9. I seem to do well with a Dobyns Fury 705CB.
  10. This thread has me doing this! Get better soon, Spankey. The smallies will be waiting for you!
  11. I don’t know if the O’s will catch the Rays. But boy! Are they trying!
  12. I only turn it off when I reel the bait back in to @&£€! close to the rod tip! ?
  13. As soon as you stop the boat for the first time and prepare to make the first cast of the day, your work phone starts vibrating (and no, leaving it at home is not an option!).
  14. I reel in to set the hook on wacky rigs. Anything else I pick up the slack and set it with authority!
  15. My go-to is a 5” Senko or Yum Dinger on a 1/0 octopus circle hook. Considering some of the bigger bass (4-5 lbs) and superdinks I’ve caught with that rig, I’d say bass of all sizes bite it equally well!
  16. Per Sea Eagle’s website: “Better than a floating tube! This packraft is a completely dry enclosed hull that weighs only 22 lbs. Fully loaded with floorboard, oars, and seat a mere 32 lbs.”
  17. This is my boat/raft/whatever lol. Small (7’), lightweight, and with the optional plywood floor, relatively stable. Takes about two minutes to inflate it with the foot pump. I modded it with a 7” seat pedestal and a seat to get me up higher than the included inflatable seat and use a yak paddle vs the oars. I have had some bass pull me around in it lol. Also added a two-rod holder, so two rods there and one rod under each side of the seat (plus one in the hand) and I can fish with five rigs. Great for ponds. Not so much for big lakes, but I’ve had it on a small lake (200 acres) and did ok.
  18. @hokiehunter373 Did I miss a post about you finally getting that boat? Or am I having a “moment”? ? Sorry about your rod. But with that boat, your catches are going to go up for sure. Forecast here starting Thursday. Ugh!
  19. I commuted daily on I-95 from 1982 to 2019 to Baltimore, DC and/or Philly. Now I commute daily on I-45. Hard to pick the worst lol. I used to ride my bike on 95 as a kid when they were building 95 to the Ft. McHenry Tunnel. Would NOT suggest that now! ?
  20. That tater by Gunnar was a freaking bomb. One bounce to the Warehouse. Griffey Jr. is the only one to hit it on the fly and that was during Home Run Derby BP.
  21. Yeah, I may miss a few on swipes, but pretty much every bass that has taken my WP has been hooked solid. The hooks on mine are pretty darned sharp. I’d chalk it up to a bad day and try again. Question: what power/action rod are you using? I had much better success when I started using a medium or moderate-heavy power.
  22. Thankfully Mr. Boss Eagle did not decide that your PB was easy pickins on the way back to the boat! ??
  23. That’s a beautiful bass. Not just in size, but appearance. Congrats on the new PB! I agree, that bog looks perfect. Probably a few more big gals lurking about. And I share your sentiment. I lost 4 bass yesterday setting the hook sooner that later on a TR. I loathe guthooking bass as well. Now, the eagle? It’s a dead bass, but he’s the boss lol!
  24. Not a bad three hours this morning. Caught 5 bass, missed 3 and got a big cat trapped in the line lol. First one on a chatterbait. The rest on a weightless Fat IKA TR. The chatterbait bass was missing most of his tail. Tough spawning, unless it was a snapping turtle (haven’t seen any and no gators in this pond). The last bass was a dink. One I didn’t get pics as I needed to get it in the water fast.
