  4. Great post! All over Florida seems to have some of good sized (and colorful) panfish I have ever seen. Up here on the nature coast, we get some real nice ones out of the Hernando pool of Tsala Apopka lake chain. I usually catch mine on worms. Gonna try that Beetle Spin next time I go out, though.... Tight Lines!

  7. Well, I took the dive today and went in on a 2020 Hobie Pro Angler 12 (camo color). I will take delivery on it tomorrow. Wasn't too sure I wanted to spend $900 more for the new 360 MirageDrive system as it is very new and I haven't seen many reports on it. The current MirageDrive 180 system has been proven over the years, so that is why I went with that one. It seems the Pro Angler has a lot of built in features compared to other fishing kayaks I saw in the showroom. If anyone has any ideas for accessories or things I may want to upgrade on this kayak, please... I would love to hear your feedback. Also, would love to hear feedback from other Pro Angler owners about their experiences. I do not own a power boat, so I hope this will work in the interim of buying a power boat. Thanks for reading...
  8. Captain Phil.. This is great information. Thanks for sharing this. I see the same effects over here (on the nature coast) in our lakes/canals, as well.

  20. I have a nice Lews Mach 1 ultra light setup and looking for a nice bluegill/crappie setup.. Any recommendations as to what lures to throw? Rod is rated at 1/32 to 1/4 for lure weight. Using 6 lb mono.... Thanks in advance....
  21. I did a google search for fishing peers and found this site for you.. https://www.saltchef.com/catch_fish/FL/Martin/fishing_piers.html You may also want to check with some local tackle shops around the Martin county area. They are usually a wealth of information.... Good luck and tight lines!
  22. Was a great race.. Sad it had to end on a red for rain...
  23. Back about 20 years ago, I used to play bass guitar in a local classic rock band. We were weekend warriors playing all the local bars. Had a lot of fun with it. Played 6 years with the same band. Did not study music back in college, however, I was in high school band (marching and concert) and started by playing the trumpet back in the 5th grade. Instruments I play are bass guitar, guitar (electric and acoustic), trumpet, baritone, some keyboards and some drums. I also sing back-up vocals.
  24. After reviewing many videos and reading many threads (as I am kinda new to the braid and floro line use - just getting back into fishing after a 20 year hiatus).. I have a question... Why would you use 30lb braid tied to a 10lb floro leader? …or, 20 lb braid tied to 8 lb mono... ?? I understand using a leader helps with action and presentation, but why so light of a leader compared to the braid? Does this have to do with matching the diameter of the two types of line? If that's the case, why not fish with all mono or floro? Seems like adding another knot would weaken the setup.. Looking for some input and opinions on the subject... Thanks in advance....
