Thanks to all for your help. I just got a good deal on a 6'10" Ark Reinforcer from TW which I'll use for my Ned rod. It looks like a St. Croix Victory will be my light hair jig rod.
Is sensitivity much better on the Expride and Ark compared to the St. Croix Victory? I want to throw 1/16 ounce Maribous without a trailer. The Expride isn't rated that low. Would I have a problem throwing that light of a bait on it? Thanks again.
Loking for a rod for these presentations. Narrowed down to three:
7'3" Ark Reinforcer, 7'2" Expride B and the new 13 Fishing Envy Black 3. Any thoughts. I'd like to know if any of these would have a soft enough tip section to fling lighter baits if I choose. Thanks for your help.
Ordering the Ark this week. I think I'll bring it with on my next trip to the store to see which of the three reels feels the best. I wish the 2500 and 3000 size Tatula had a shallower spool. Not into filling with backing. Thanks again.
Got to handle all three at BPS. Vanford was the least smooth, Stradic FL was like butter, but had noticeable wobble and Tatula LT was great, but didn't feel as sturdy as the Stradic. Thoughts and opinions please. All in 2500 or 3000 size. Thanks.
I've fished spinning gear all my life. The only experience I have with casting reel was an Ambassador 5500 many years ago. Backlashes kept me from using that type of reel. I realize the newer low profile reels make the learning curve much easier. I'm looking at the Curado DC, the Tatula Elite , Tatula SV and Tatula SV TW 103. I'm unsure of the differences in the various Tatula iterations. Could someone please enlighten me? It will most likely be an all purpose reel for applications unsuitable for my spinning gear. How much line do I need (in Yards) on a casting reel? I use 12-20 pound Mono. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help.
