  1. I plan on using these rigs mostly for Ned rigs and weightless plastics so that’s exactly what I’m looking for. Do you typically use leader material or a fluorocarbon mainline as a leader on your braid? And thank you for the knot recommendation, that was my next question. Sounds like you can’t really go wrong with any of them then? And I’m guessing leader material has the highest stiffness and abrasion resistance? I’m brand new to these styles of fishing so I’m hoping for all of the visibility I can get. What kind of leader do you use? Do you use actual leader material or a fluorocarbon mainline?
  2. Hey all, Just picked up a couple of spinning rigs for weightless worms and finessing. Thinking about trying out high-vis yellow braid for the first time too. What’s everyone using for a leader? Are you tying on a fluorocarbon or hybrid that you’d typically use as a mainline for a leader, or are you spending a little extra and using a fluorocarbon leader material? The way I see it, I know some people prefer throwing straight fluorocarbon or copolymer with these set ups so why not just use that line as a leader? If it’s truly worth spending the extra money on leader material I’m all for it, but don’t want to if not necessary. Just curious to hear everyone’s thoughts and experiences with both.
  3. Hello everyone, I'm looking into getting a plastics specific rod but have never really fished plastic baits before other than a T-rigged senko a few times. I've been told fishing plastics is an essential skill to learn for someone newer to fishing like I am and hear it can be deadly if done properly. I'm comfortable using both casting and spinning gear for the most part, but can't decide on which one to go with. I'm looking at a St. Croix Mojo Bass plastics rod in particular since I was lucky enough to get some Mojo Bass rods as hand me downs when I started fishing. Both rods are the same power/action and have the same lure/line rating in casting and spinning models. Just looking for any input on what y'all think would be the best move functionality and versatility wise would be. Thanks Devin
  4. That’s exactly it! Thank you so much.
  5. It floats when it’s not being worked. Suspends slowly with a twitch or retrieve.
  6. Hello all, I’m relatively new to the bass fishing world and I’m going through my dads old tackle box he gave me. Anyone know what kind of bait this is? This thing has caught me fish on very slow days and I’ve out fished my “more experienced” buddies with it on multiple occasions. I obviously want to get more, but any help on identifying exactly what this is would be greatly appreciated. Also anyone have some tips on how to fish it? I’ve been working it with a relatively slower reprieve with the occasional twitch here and there. Thanks everyone.
