  1. I need to stock up on a few more hollow body frogs. I typically get the booyah pad crashers and they work fine. But I was looking at some frogs with the paddletail legs, I’ve never used any. Do they still work well in cover or are they mostly for more open water like a buzz bait? Any recommendations on the best ones to try?
  2. I fish a lot of dirty water too, and have consistently caught fish on the ultravibe worm. It’s my go to worm for dirty stained water. Second best pb 5.75 was caught in chocolate milk on a black blue ultravibe last year. They work for sure
  3. I don’t fish as much as I would like to but I still go at least once per week from March-October. Between work, raising a 3 year old boy, and everything else that comes up. The best I can do most of the time is find a couple hours here and there throughout the week. Which also limits me to local ponds and creeks. I’m planning on buying property on a 100 acre lake in the next year. And then I’ll get my own boat too. Would fish a lot more of I could walk outside my house and just go
  4. In my personal opinion, you don’t need a backpack designed for fishing. I just use a pretty basic bass pro back pack. Can carry 4 3600 boxes and has side pockets for water, and pliers. All you really need.
  5. Doesn’t a rattletrap, you know, rattle?
  6. Here’s my 2020 lineup. Daiwa Tatula SV- St Croix Avid X 7’ MH Lews Superduty G- Dobyns Fury 735 Lews Hyper Mag-Dobyns Fury 703 Lews Tournament Pro- Dobyns Fury 733 Lews Tournament Pro-Dobyns Fury 705cb Diawa Regal 2500- St Croix Premier 6’6 ML Diawa Revros 1000- St Croix 6’4 lite (my trout, crappie rod)
  7. Usually I will do that, especially when I’m on a boat. I only run into a problem when I have trees or some obstruction to my left side on the bank when I’m forced to backhand.
  8. I have a diawa regal 2500 which is comparable weight wise to your Stradic. I have mine on a 6’6 ML st Croix premier. It is the best balanced rod/reel I have including my baitcasters. I hold my spinning reels in front of the reel foot. It feels weightless to me because the balance point is right there
  9. I’ve been throwing them on a dobyns fury 735, lews superduty g with 50 lb braid. Probably overkill, I’d throw it on a 7’ MH all day long too.
  10. I will definitely try that, thanks! I am left handed and right eye dominant. I know with shooting a gun, I’ve had to make major adjustments to be any good. I am pretty accurate casting to the left but not quite as much when casting my natural way. I can’t cast with one hand at all, even with spinning gear. I think I just trained myself to do things one way over the years and now I don’t know how to change lol I’m the exact same as you in every way except I can’t bat right handed. Thanks for the reply
  11. Hi guys. Just made an account here. Been reading for probably 2 years now. I’ve been fishing most of my life and I never really noticed until recently how I cast baits to my left when bank fishing. I’m a right hand retrieve and I can overhand cast any way just fine. I can roll cast, underhand cast, pitch, skip to my right or in front of me on the bank all day long. I always cast the reel (baitcaster or spinning)with my left hand and my right hand on the butt. I am not ambidextrous at all and when I cast to the left with cover along the bank,I can make semi accurate casts still but only by doing a weird backhand/underhand cast where my arms almost cross as I load up the rod. I can’t switch hands to cast. Is anyone else like this? Can most of you switch hands at will? Any pointers for me? The more I notice it the more I want to learn to switch hands. Thanks. This might be a weird question but where else can I ask? Haha
