  1. that’s what i have heard, i love the honesty here and i don’t consider it to be bitter. it is a very valid point. i’ve really only been fishing these 2 ponds lately and that’s about it. cant really find bass at any other urban ponds. Even fools hollow lake in Show Low is fairly pressured and people poach so often. I have no idea why you would poach the urban pond bass.. that’s just ridiculous.
  2. holy **** that’s genius dude. i think what makes that bait dominate in the valley, is that these fish see too much **** and i’ve caught the most fish on the most unorthodox lures. poppers with crazy designs, buzzbaits with no skirts and just paddle tails, popper frogs, etc. if they haven’t seen it, they will usually hit it. i love this idea from you! let me know if u got anything else that you like to throw on topwater that seems to work for ya. i love topwater just like most anglers out there so i love to get more info!
  3. Hey, it’s been a while since i have been in here. But do you just weedless rig that work and throw it topwater??? Seems genius!!!
  4. Hey y’all, I was wondering what small ponds you know of in the Phoenix area that aren’t as pressured or have really good bass in them. seems like a lot of the more popular ones get slammed these days and it’s hard to really find good spots! Thanks!!!
  5. Hey all, I was wondering what you guys like to use when the water is going into the 50’s during the winter. Poppers slow? Whatever you guys think let me know . i typically fish small ponds and go shallow.
  6. Hey everyone, I was talking to a buddy about his most advanced and unique lures, rigs, etc. what is your favorite advanced or unique rig or jigs etc..
  7. i hear you brotha. it hit 116 a couple weeks back and i had to stop the fishing for a little.. they are only biting on small profile chartreuse and white baits. i will basically do anything to throw topwater. anything reaction strike based in in love with. i’m a high paced human being so i typically like to be moving frequently. so buzzbaits, poppers, spooks, frogs, etc. are my favorite. i had some guys talking about getting a nasty shad bronzeeye frog popper. for the shad bite going on. walk it and pop it slowly. i’ve been throwing flukes and we get bites but nothing big. i’ve been trying to get up to my cabin and fish up there. it’s 60s-70s right now and water temp is great for fishing. but for now i gotta deal with the pressures ponds near me. we just went through a storm so i am planning on fishing today. but it’s goin pretty slow as of fishing... and it’s not like there’s a bunch of cover that i can target. there’s little to no cover on those ponds. i’d be skipping jigs under it if so but i haven’t been able to.. thanks for the help guys. let me know what you think that’s awesome brotha. i love sea rays. we used to have a slx 270 a couple years back and sold it. we have a little fishing boat now but d**n do i miss that boat. i want to go up and fish lake powell a little too. one of my dream spots. but good luck out there!!! haha. we hit 124 a couple years back and we hit 118 2 weeks ago. 110 and under is cool for me. but lately it’s been 108 with 30% humidity and oh lordy that suffers me.
  8. Hey all, I have been fishing some local urban ponds lately. I have been fishing buzzbait, wacky rigs, texas rigs, carolina rigs, crankbaits, and jigs. honestly i have no clue what to do anymore. it’s 106 outside and these ponds are shallow. so anyone have advice on what to do?
  9. no bites this trip. wind was blowing hard and water was muddy. the trout fishing wasn’t going well either...
  10. ahh my bad. im almost positive it’s mostly threadfin shad.
  11. there is some dead brush, logs, broken tree branches, and some dark green weeds.
  12. lol i love that. the water is decently stained there. not too bad. what colors do you recommend. i have a chartreuse and white senko, baby bass senkos, i can roll with anything
  13. sounds like a plan. used a slip shot rig yesterday with a yamasenko on the end and brought in a decent bass. so y’all are really helping. thank you. now here’s a good question. it’s about in the 70 degree range up at my cabin. the lake we fish at has some vegetation and smallmouth and the other has largies and smallies what do i fish at this time of year in those situations? finesse? craw jig? swim bait?
  14. wow. that was an extreme help... thank you very much and good luck out there!
  15. thank you! yeah i’m gonna try and head out at sunset and fish it. gets a little cooler and sun goes down some bit.
  16. okay. i haven’t seen any crawfish in the ponds but i do know there are small baitfish swimming around. im going to try and go out at sunset tonight and get some better bites. even if there aren’t crawfish in the pond is it still a good bait to throw?
  17. Hey y’all. I live in Phoenix, AZ. Summer is on its way in and I have been fishing some lakes up north with cooler weather and some small urban lakes/ponds. It’s in the 90s and it’s a strong sun. The pond I go to isn’t deep 10 feet tops if that. It has these bubbling tubes that obviously bubble to keep oxygen level up. A couple friends caught fish around them. Some trees and shade cover and certain spots. But my question is. What would be the best bait/lure to throw in these conditions. Trying to pull in some decent fish. If you are familiar with the Chandler, AZ area let me know of some good urban fishing. But mainly Im just trying to figure out what to use. Thank y’all
