I was told i would probably birdsnest alot since im new to this kind of reel so went cheap on line. Stren think it was 12 or 14 pound mono. It was affordable so why not. The reel is 6:4:1 gear ratio 5 bearings i think. Dont have it right in front of me

Ok so after many many years of just using a spinning reel I finally made the decision to purchase my very first baitcaster. I looked up a few and decided on getting the Abu Garcia BlackMax. I read that it was one of the better choices to start off for a beginner. Are there any tips or tricks for a baitcast rookie like myself? I spooled it myself which is something i hadn't done. Hopefully I did ok.

Hello everybody hope everyone had a great memorial day and thank you for everything. I'm curious, question for the bank anglers or anyone that fishes really. When bank fishing how do you like to carry your tackle and how do you prefer to have it organized?

@JediAmoebathanks Soo I'm not someone to usually buy my fishing tackle online because I prefer to see the lures in person but decided to take a risk since haven't had the time to go to my local Academy..... I've heard about and read about alot of sites to buy my lures online. Like Academy, walmart, tackle warehouse, bass pro shops and a few othere. So I decided trying cabelas. It was a risk but figured what the heck. Placed my order and it arrived quicker than i was expecting even with this covid virus going on. Total was about 5 days to arrive. I'm very happy with how fast i got my package and how big the selection of tackle was with them. They got me as a customer. Any other websites y'all recommend? Attached below is my first purchase 1. Yum 7.5 inch Ribbontail Worm Blk/Blu FLK 12 pck 2. Yum TipToad in White 5pck(excited to try these) 3.Mister Twister curly tail grub in White pearl got the wrong size got 3 inch meeny instead of 4 inch but whoops my bad. 4. Mister Twister Sassy Shad 3 inch White pearl/ Black back What y'all think?

Hello everyone wanted some opinions. Thinking of getting my first baitcaster thats affordable so i like the abu garcia silver max and black max and for super affordable academy h20 has a cheap baitcaster which to go with? Also is this a good lure?

Watched a show called little fires everywhere i think thats what its called on hulu... better than i was expecting cool seeing Reese Witherspoon in a serious roll. And reading some harry potter on my tablet. And spending time with the wife and kids watching Toy Story.

@kdubracingYea I do have enough to get a more expensive kayak but id prefer not to spend a butt load. I'm just wanting a good time on the water not looking to spend all day, but 2-4 hrs per day to go out on the water is good enough for me. To enjoy some fishing and get out there and experience something new.

Good afternoon everyone. Was wondering what would be an affordable kayak for a beginner to get? Tired of bank fishing and wanna be able to enjoy fishing from out on the water. Not looking for something to expensive not more than $400. Not gonna be out in the ocean or a huge lake. Any recommendations welcome and your reason why you like the kayak. To start off wanna say thanks to everyone thats welcomed me to this site and given me advice. I really do appreciate it. Also does anybody watch fishing tournaments on tv? I remember back when i had cable i use to watch fishing with my dad specifically i think it was the flw tour or bass master classics. He would get so mad that they would let the fish go lol he's use to eating fish(catfish) I no longer have cable to watch those tournaments. Does anyone know of a way to watch these tournaments online for free? Would love to watch some fishing. Thanks in advance

What's everyone's favorite way to fish soft plastics and whats your go to lure when fishing gets tough?

Maybe you buried the hook point back into the worm/ senkos body to much. Hook point should barely be covered by the plastic, enough to not get snagged on things with out making it difficult to set the hook when the fish bites.

Would these colors work. I know theres catfish and carp so I'm assuming there should be bass as well

Thanks for all the info, forgot to mention I'll be bank fishing since have no boat. Also what color would be best for this water color and where should i throw the worm?

I'm using spinning, I'll attach a pic of what I'm using. And location is Texas like deep south texas city named Brownsville. And does color of lure matter also.
