  1. Its been several years since I have been on this lake. I use to like Shoal Bay. I heard that the line of polls that marked the channel to run from river to bay is now littered with debris and not safe to run. Is that true? do you have to idle from river to opening?
  2. I was actually researching connecting my ipad to my gen3 yesterday. This makes total sense for "usefulness" but from a manufacture standpoint, can i increase the price of the "brain" enough to make up for the lost revenue of the head unit. I do not own livescope but if this type of brain was available today, i would probably buy one tomorrow (if they didn't push the price point too high)
  3. I recently purchased a 2016 boat that has two hds 9 gen 3's linked (console and bow). I don't fully understand everything but it appears that they were set up with the y splitter and for a "thru the hull" transducer for 2d sonar and then a side scan/down scan transducer on the bottom of the jack plate. The reason i assume this is that i get 2d sonar while on plane but not downscan/side scan. 1)So i guess my first question is "based on what i have described, is my assumption correct that there are two transducers"? 2)My second question involves a possible upgrade. If i were to upgrade to an hds live, would the new unit use the same transducers or would i need to upgrade them in order to take advantage of the better screen and newer technology of the hds live's. Not interested in the lowrance live as i plan to go with garmin for that. Just looking of better resolution for down scan side scan. I hope all this makes sense. Thanks!
  4. Have you heard an rumors as to when they might release 360 live. i was out of fishing for a while but now slowly upgrading everything. I don’t have livescope yet and was planning to purchase that next year.
  5. do you mean for a boat and the main engine or trolling motor?
  6. In you all's opinion, what is "the next big thing" in marine electronics. I guess in my opinion the hummingbird 360 and garmin livescope have been the biggest developments over the last few years. So whats next? Will it be something totally new. Will be be updates to these system. Just curious as to what you think?
  7. thank you
  8. I just purchased a 2016 model bass at boat that has HDS ? at console and bow. 1)I am pretty sure they are Gen3 but not sure how to know so How can I tell. 2)As i was looking around i noticed that the previous owner had loaded Navionics on it. So I assume that i can use it but just can update it. Is that correct? 3) If they are in fact Gen3’s. AND i cant really use all of the Navionics features, will C-Map Contour+ work on a Gen3 or is that only for HDS Live units? I am pretty techy but having upgrade my fishing electronics in a long time so still trying to figure all this out, and now that i have a new ride, i am ready to make the most of it. Any help appreciated. Thanks

  10. I am considering a Ghost Trolling Motor and HDS live for front of boat but i want to make sure I’m thinking correctly. 1. Am i correct that the Ghost Trolling Motor has a built in transducer in the nose cone that can be upgraded to included sonar, downscan and side scan? 2. Am i correct that in order to get front facing LiveSight I would need a separate transducer mounted on the shaft of the trolling motor? 3. Am i correct that I can have a single HDS Live unit that will connect to both the transducer in the trolling motor AND the front facing LiveSight but i would only be able to view one at a time. Meaning i could only see LiveSight when programmed to the shaft mounted transducer and only see Sonar/downscan/sides can when programmed to the trolling motor transducer. With this setup I would need to purchase the trolling motor, the shaft mounted transducer, and the HDS live unit. Help me out. Is all this correct? Thanks
