  1. I think you might have nailed it, because its much less resistance than any other reel in my arsenal, I just feel a slight geary ticking when reeling super fast which I have felt on some of my other reels as well, this might just be normal and I'm ocd, but every reel I own even of the same lineup does feel a little different, I think you hit it on the head.
  2. I have not encountered it, I have not called shimano because this one is out of japan, I guess I could
  3. I recently picked up a Shimano sahara fj and when switching between left and right side of the handle the left side is smoother than the right side, this is annoying because I retrieve with my right hand, any solutions??? Bought out of Japan so not sure if I want to ship back P.S (only occurs when spool and rotor are pointed up towards sky)
  4. That and you never know what happens on yaliyabba
  5. As a horticulturalist as neat as this would be, reading the article i got a real chuckle, it must be a gag, to grow on a piece of bamboo that can create perfectly shaped pieces of circular metal would never work for a number of scientific reasons, however, you could theoretically buy a bamboo plant that is naturally tapered, train bamboo branches into guides, and insert metal rings inside the bamboo guide, however this amount of effort would be difficult and take many hours of labor, and you would still require metal inserts as installation. To get a better idea of what I'm talking about, look up circus trees. Gmo and GE are the same thing
  6. Yes they can be shallow, slower seems to work better for me. Find baitfish maybe offshore? Not quite sure about your lakes because our southwest coast lakes are unique compared to most the country with trout eaters in a temperate mild climate, but the cold low to high 30s they still seem willing to hit a Huddleston style bait or jig.
  7. Fishing fly rods with weight is frustrating at times, expecially anything over half a gram. Do not false cast more than you need to, cast tremendously lightly, shoot the line instead of false casting.
  8. yes St croix rod is classic, usdm market doesn't have a great selection of UL rods, because bass industry gets too much attention. Jdm has lot more options Diawa presso is moderate fast but good quality usdm. Soare xr is beautiful rod if you schill out the dough for it.
  9. If you know... you know
  10. Before doing invasive reel surgery if it has been fished in clean water not sw or fishing frogs in schmuck, just remove sideplate and oil spool bearings, see if that helps. Also removing spool tension knob will expose another spool bearing that might be hard to reach.
  11. I debated posting here, but will try to help. I am studying horticultural science, fertilizer is often not needed as much as many think for most edible plants and ornamental plants in a garden bed. It is generally only required if you are growing too many plants in the same area and growing heavy feeding plants. Fertilizers also can cause many problems, fertilizer promotes lots of young leafy growth which Discourages fruiting and flowering Attracts pests to newly grown leaves Discourages diversity of soil life microbes, because different microbes feed on different things, and dumping bat guano into a garden bed will only attract the few bacteria eating bat guano Petroluem fertilizers make this worse Some fertilizers are also known to pose health risks. Many organic fertilizers put into soil raw and not hot composted can carry parasites from the previous animal into your soil, such as tapeworms. If plants are showing difficiencies in nutrients try watering more because without water plants cannot take nutrients out of the soil. Soil texture is much better changed with carbon over nitrogen, light nitrogen cool composted carbon materials will be your best bet. Tomatoes are even considered invasive to preserves to protect native plants.
