  1. Maybe something like this: https://sfttackle.com/sfttackle-big-hook-weedless-tube-jig-head-14129.html
  2. Mike at DVT just fixed up a JDM Daiwa for me. đź‘Ť
  3. Two trips north for Canadian smallmouth, walleye & pike. One trip will be a bucket list fly-in.
  4. I decided to get some Tatsu on the TW sale price. Best choice I believe.
  5. For use on a baitcaster, can anyone compare Daiwa J-Fluoro Samurai and Seaguar R18 Fluoro? Would the average angler be able to tell any difference? This would be 12-14 lb line targeting Canadian smallmouth and walleye.
  6. I didn’t mean to but I got older! I’ve found this device very handy in tying a nice Alberto Knot. It’s lightweight, not large, and will easily travel in the tackle bag. https://albertoknot.com/product/uncle-jim-tool/
  7. Drive twenty hours to Cochrane, ON and a flight to Kesagami Lake. Bucket list.
  8. Heading up north next summer to a lake known for big pike. I’m going to get a second JDM Zillion TW HD.
  9. Very busy! Site is taking forever to load.
  10. What a nice trip report! You did your homework and the prep paid off. Thanks for posting. Did all the great pike hit on spoons?
  11. Good topic. Thanks for posting. If I can say it, there are similar threads on “Walleye Central”.
  12. I’m interested in a two-piece Megabass Levante casting rod that’s marketed by a JDM online source. They’re currently out of stock but I’m watching. I’ll looking at two models for a Canada fly-in trip next summer so I have time. Levante is a good rod, right? Has anyone used a two-piece model? TIA.
  13. Ah. Now I recall. Fish USA is my go-to.
  14. KTP? Am not familiar.
  15. Thanks for the technique tip. What size hook do you have on these heavier jigs and the 3” bait?
  16. There is a lot of Old Town Sportsman kayak information in two Facebook groups, “Old Town Sportsman Owners Group” and Old Town Sportsman PDL Owners Group. You might need to join the groups to ask a question or just search the groups without joining. I know that transducer questions get asked frequently and the answers usually include pictures. I have the OT Sportsman 120 PDL Salty kayak and have a large Garmin transducer mounted through the forward scupper hole. This does allow side scan without interference from the hull. Hope this helps.
  17. They are so nice to sling it out there. Digitaka worked for me.
  18. A-Jay - I see your many informative posts containing great pics and videos. What do you size a picture to in order to post it to BR? Can you direct me to the FAQ or other post that’s most helpful regarding this topic? I’m using an iPad or a MacBook if there’s a best App that you may know of. Your pics are terrific so thanks for any advice. Bob
  19. Can you describe the “modified” Alberto knot? Is that finishing with some wraps through the leader loop or half hitches on the braid main line? Or some other finish to lock the connection knot? Thanks.
  20. Thanks. The seminar schedule is now posted.
  21. Until recently all my spinning reels (US Daiwa and Pflueger) have had a small lever on the bottom or back of the reel that allows me to reverse wind. I use this to let out some line when setting up to cast or let out some line when I’m on a snag. I now have two nice JDM Daiwa reels (Certate) that don’t have this feature. They’re always in anti-reverse. I have to let out line by opening the bail or pulling line out against the drag. Am I overlooking a feature or is the reel designed this way? I’ll have to get used to this operation as they really nice!
  22. Of those choices: Trilene knot. Never had a problem with it.
  23. Is that known by another name or description? My search on Digitaka didn’t find what you’re describing. Correct spelling?
  24. Do you normally use light spinning gear or BFS to toss these?
