  1. Check out Super K's swim jigs. They have a 1/4 oz. Their weed guards come perfectly trimmed out of the package and they're less stiff than most standard weed guards. Come throw cover well and hookup ratio is great. I love the Dirty Jigs finesse version as well.
  2. Early TW sale starts today if you're on their email list.
  3. I started using a composite spinning rod with braid/leader to improve distance throwing small/medium poppers.
  4. Yes. Keep the Zako full length. If you're consistently getting short struck, it's most likely not a bait for the conditions.
  5. What a coincidence. 90% of my spinnerbait experience is with War Eagle and Nichols. Fairly pleased, but curious to see how the MB SV-3 does for smallie burning situations. Wish they were a little more compact with some painted blade options, but I’ll try it out vs the screamin eagle.
  6. @Finessegenics Nice! I do not think this is a case of media presence & reviews overhyping a new flouro. I stopped fishing Assasin, Sniper, Abrasx, Tatsu this past season and exclusively fished Daiwa Samurai. Tatsu is still slightly better IMO for most positive flouro characteristics, but I don’t feel the need for it unless on straight flouro spinning gear. Samurai is pretty supple excellent casting line manageability, abrasion resistance (no breaks yet around zebra mussels), more resistant to kink breakage….that’s what I value about it. I’ve used the 14# for dragging heavy tubes, jigs, deep cranking, even bladed jigs in heavy cover with 14#….but I’m in north country so 7 # max fish is fine for me with 14# for a bladed jig in moderate to light heavy grass. Hope you find the same success and excitement for a new staple flouro in your arsenal.
  7. That’s interesting @cgolf - Thanks for sharing. I feel ya with the war eagle spinnerbait durability. One of my favorites, but a lot of left over casualties of fishing war eagle spinnerbaits. I’ve definitely experienced McClelland’s Finesse getting bites when a standard size spinnerbait was not producing.
  8. @LrgmouthShad Thanks for sharing. Sounds like a fun new addition. I too took advantage of the Picasso extra 10%. I love throwing a spinnerbait but have never gone down the analytical rabbit hole with this technique, but I appreciate you sharing your experience and why those baits appeal to you. Maybe someday I start analyzing all facets of spinnerbait of and start tinkering more.
  9. Sweet. Thanks for sharing roadwarrior.
  10. Ah! Yes. TW. Apologies for the lack of specificity. 4th order starting now. Sold 3 rods and a reel to justify the 4th order. For some reason, I still feel guilty and I’m sure there’s a fifth one coming before it’s all over. You all know how it is. Only BlackFriday and Memorial Day…..that’s it. I’m done!……. Of course that turns into twice a month, all year round.
  11. After placing early Black Friday order last Sunday, 2 days later I had a bank fraud attempt. Call fraud center to shutdown debit card. 15 min later, I received another fraud center text alert that looked different. Before I had a chance to inquire, I received an incoming call alerting me of potential fraud to verify. Luckily, I was in a aggressive mood asking the operator a bunch of questions before she had a chance to start asking me questions. She messed up with her first question. I did not respond but asked her what address she had on file…. She stated my new address which I never updated with bank since moving 8 months ago. I told her she was attempting to commit fraud and she started jumbling words. After ending that transaction I immediately drove to the bank to update my address and get a new debit card issued. Banker looked at text. Confirmed it wasn’t their fraud center and confirmed a fraud center would never initiate a fraud alert outgoing call to the customer. Luckily, I did not lose anything. All IP address activity was located in Florida with a couple physical fraud attempts in Florida as well.
  12. I understand this topic has been discussed prior and there is lots of info available. Do you use snaps on hardbaits? Mostly interested in experience regarding jerkbaits, deep cranks, & poppers. Be as specific as you’d like regarding each bait type, specific baits, and situation if necessary. Thanks so much for your advice. 1. No snap? 2. Snap without split ring? 3. Snap with split ring?
