  • About Me
I currently serve in the United States Marine Corps and stationed in Camp Lejeune. I have a wife and daughter and I’m from Upstate NY. When I was a kid my Dad would take me fishing at small ponds for bluegill with live bait. As I got older I developed a passion for bass fishing. I like baseball and football.

  1. Zoom ultravibe speed craw and worm
  2. I use a Daiwa aird Heavy Fast Action 7’ with 65lb braid. Same setup for my regular sized frogs
  3. Whopper Ploppers- I used to throw these plenty but without a single bite. Spinnerbaits of any brand- I have thrown these under all kinds of conditions deep and shallow night and day with no luck.
  4. I use 4/0 for most soft plastics, including straight tail worms, flukes, senkos.
  5. All I’ve ever used were the normal drop shot hooks and I’ve always had success. I would say those other kinds aren’t needed.
  6. When I say small pond I’m talking a 1 acre or less pond. In my experience throwing the larger (3/8oz and up) spinnerbaits, chatterbaits etc will spook the small fish but will only draw the big bites!
  7. I use them still, I have a pack of Zoom Lizards in green pumpkin I throw on a Texas rig with a 3/0 offset round bend hook.
  8. What size/weight lures are you using in small ponds? I like to fish with spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, crankbaits, jigs. Are you guys downsizing these lures from your usual lake/river sizes?
  9. I have a lot of thanks to give to my Dad for for teaching me how to fish, but the internet has taught me so much about the sport of bass fishing that I would have never imagined. It has taught me techniques and given me an understanding of bass that would have taken me a long time to learn on my own. The amount of information on bass fishing that is available in seconds is amazing. I like to watch Bassresource, Tactical Bassin, and Fish The Moment.
  10. Yes, I can’t wait! As a bank fisherman that extra time before dark on the weekday after work is awesome.
  11. Currently serving Marine 2016-2020 so far.
  12. Hey ya’ll I’m a Marine currently stationed in NC, originally from Upstate NY. I’ve been fishing since I was a little kid with my dad and uncles. I like to fish the ponds on and around base. I love this forum and the YouTube channel, it has taught me so much about the sport of fishing!
