  1. I live in Iowa…6 inch worms on shakey head will get eaten by 10 inch fish to over 20 inch fish. My PB is on a shakey head with 6 inch worm. All the “southern” stuff you read about works for Northern strain. We just don’t get as many 6-8 pound class fish.
  2. Techniques I do well in pressure, clear water situations are hoverstrolling, small shakey heads, neds and tube jigs (snapping and fishing like a football jig). Especially with small forage. I’m from Iowa but we have sand pits with extreme water clarity. Another thing I’m going to ask is are you using flourocarbon. Usually in high pressure clear water 90% of the time it’s spinning Rod and flouro for me. I run 8 pound but you may need to run 6
  3. History of the Lure Link of above is history of the lure and the Original Strike Pro lure it is based on the Big Bubba Big Bubba Here is a old what used to be FLW article on the Big Bubba
  4. @Bluebasser86 How much experience do you have with the Fighting Frog? One key design that interests me is the collapsing body. Does it collapse really well like it’s marketed?
  5. Fellow Iowan here…Welcome to the Hawkeye state. I have a lot of success with Ned rigs this time of the year. Smaller C-Rigs and Football Jigs are good if it’s not to snaggy from the bank. Bottom hopping a chatterbait or lipless can be good.

  9. Was reading a bassblaster article this morning. It stated a Powerbait infused skirted jigs developed by Gary Klein are coming out. Also MaxScent Chigger Craws are on the way. I also found an interesting Outdoor Life article detailing how Berkley tests their stuff. https://www.outdoorlife.com/fishing/berkley-fishing-lure-testing/
  10. Gene Larew Ned Rig Inch worm?
  11. Rumors amongst the anglers is there have been some giants in practice. If the weather it keeps together with warm weather until Sunday and a new moon. We could see a slug fest. If the weather holds......
  12. Best Jigs on the Market
  13. Got discontinued awhile back. One common issue was the bills would break. After they got discontinued, I believe it was Tennessee River guys it started to get popular.

  18. That looks like either a Floating or Countdown Rapala in their classic Clown color. Easiest way to tell is if it floats or sinks.
  19. Do you think the Apex comes with Roku features. It would be nice to watch Netflix. ?

  21. Your initial reaction was the same as mine. Why don't they call it the DT-Flat 2.0? Booyah was not very shy saying the XCS Squarebill was the old XCalibur squarebill.
  22. Fish USA: 20% Off in stock Owner Hooks and 15% off Soft Plastics
  23. I call those tough days "Learning Days". I can't tell you how many times I have used information I've learned on a slower day of fishing. Then use that information either the next day or even a year later and catch fish. Thankfully I learned early on that "Learning Days" are very important in becoming a better fisherman. I find that not a lot of people around my age (I'm 23) have learned that.
  24. I have been seeing a lot pros using Flouro lately.
  25. I don't know how small of invertebrates but they will eat them. I have a cousin who caught a 6.5 pound bass while ice fishing for bluegills. He was using a 1/64th ounce tungsten jig and small panfish plastic.
