  1. I guessed 7-8 lbs, All the pike in the river are skinny. Not sure why as there’s tons of bait.
  2. A skinny 36” today. Pike are tough to get good pics of solo
  3. Sportsman’s takes amazon pay. He could use it there
  4. Yes. Best rod I’ve used for cranking. Have the 7’11” HM. Will be buying a MM & MHM Sooner or later
  5. Savage gear makes a few golden shiner swimbaits
  6. It’s the most satisfying fishing I do. Long walks thru the woods to the source of cold water. People think I’m crazy to be excited over a 3-4” fish
  7. I fish a 0 weight fly rod for wild brookies in Mass & Maine. Usually fishing in tiny feeder streams you can step over. Never heard the term “micro fishing” before tho.
  8. Are they still made in USA?
  9. Awesome. I appreciate it. Pm sent
  10. Looking for an inexpensive braid to put on some line counter reels. Looking for durability & strength over casting performance. ThankS
  11. Do you have a budget in mind for the set up?
  12. Tre NRX is the most sensitive rod that I have fished. Is it the best value? Probably not. Is it 2-$300 Better than imx...yes. Keep in mind Covid shut down Loomis production for months. This drove up the prices & demand of used rods.
  13. I picked up a Abu Garcia 4601 c4 winch for deep cranking. Tossed a longer handle on it & it works great
  14. Buy a few different weights & colors.... the names are nothing but gimmicks to get you to buy more than you need.
  15. Should work fine for frogging. And if you ever hit the salt you already have a reel for it.
  16. A few weeks ago I found two Plano 3700’s floating in a river. I grabbed them & realized they were mine. They must have slid of the back as I motored up the river
  17. I’ve used them to catch lake trout in 120’ + deep water. Find the heaviest head you can find & watch the fish on the finder.
  18. I’ve been looking into peg board for my basement. Got pretty expensive once I realized how much board I would need to order. Right now I have a overflowing large cardboard box. I rummage & find surprises I forgot I bought.
  19. Re-tying is a way to make sure the get rid of damage to the line. When using a snap you increase the chance of line failure
  20. Can’t help with walleye, but for pike search out submerged islands in at least 20 foot of water Surrounded by deeper water. I’ve found trolling on leadcore works well
  21. Get a few of each & let the bass tell you what they want. If you not catching with one, tie on the other.
  22. So you prefer a rod that “looks good” over one that performs well? Personally I’ll take a top performer
  23. St croix & G. Loomis. Used to like falcon too until they shipped manufacturing overseas.
  24. Well done!!
