  1. If you have $700 to spend you could get one of the new legend xtremes.... ???
  2. St croix makes a 7’4” heavy in several different lines. I use the avid x for frogs, 130 ploppers, plastic swimbaits.....
  3. Looks like a reel made to catch people eye more than fish.
  4. Do you use the Abu’s much or are they more collectors items?
  5. They do. I have a C4 4601 winch on a St Croix legend glass 7’11” heavy. It’s great for big deep cranks, some topwaters........
  6. I enjoy a good round reel. Anyone have any experience with it that can offer an opinion?
  7. There should have been stickers on the handle with serial numbers
  8. I use the avid-x 7’4”H primarily for froggin. It also sees some use for heavy top water & some swim/jerk baits when pike fishing.
  9. I did it myself. Ordered parts from mikesreel repair & dadsoletackle. The reels are very simple to take apart
  10. Do they happen to make left hand models? It seems that most of the really interesting reels they make don’t have a lefty version.
  11. I have one, got it for a lot less Than msrp. Frankly for a$500 price tag I wasn’t impressed. This year i put it on the bench in favor of a tuned royal express I.
  12. I repurposed an old heritage tip up for this. Added a wood handle to spool to speed up the process.
  13. Does anyone know if there’s a new generation of Swedish made abu’s on the horizon? C3 C4 or a record?
  14. Rapala shad raps is the first thing that comes to mind. Really use the rod with any bait with treble hooks that doesn’t need a fast action to make it go.
  15. If you have your mind set on Loomis, check out the green water rods. It’s a “salt water” rod but there’s heavy/moderate spinning rods In the line up
  16. Why not get an ugly stik & spend $160 on crankbaits ?
  17. I use them to catch lake trout in 100’+ on 3/8 oz jig heads. Also jig up smallies on 1/4oz in 40-60’. Just match the weight to depth.
  18. Any news on if it will be made in USA or Mexico?
  19. Yes it is worth the higher price. IMO
  20. Esox of all sizes love spinners....
  21. 76 Cadillac el dorado. Had so much fun that car..... burn outs at pretty much every stop sign. we used to do drive by’s at school with super soakers.
  22. I missed my spring trips due to covid. These were from last fall
  23. I have had luck with a tube in the same situation. You can easily fish it between 10-15’ I’ve also found that the fish youre seeing (I assume on your finder) could be perch, crappie & sunfish
