    How many fish are you weighing? I might weigh 1 or 2 fish a year. I can estimate the weight of bass within a few ounces.

    Mass state record is 47” 35lbs I submitted a 51” fish for consideration. It was certified at 29lbs.

    Check out the specs on the NRX inshore line. also they used to make trout trolling rods. They were simply casting models of the trout spinning line. I have the CR 841 7’ ultra light. 2-5 lb 1/32-1/4

    Power ratings are all over with almost all manufacturers. Loomis is notoriously light. A M st croix is usually on par with MH Loomis. When shopping for rods focus on weight rather than H MH etc.

    Depending on how weedy the water is I’m fishing, I use either the Loomis NRX 853C or 854C.
