  1. I got lazy and the quarantine got the best of me, decided to hang at home today. I’ve only ever caught largemouth in either of the French creek lakes, although I know they hold smallmouth, the state record was caught there ?‍♀️
  2. Gonna try and hit French creek state park today, and stop at hopewell/Scott’s run. Been a while since I’ve been up that way
  3. Thanks guys
  4. Hello guys I just got my first big swimbait rod, a dobyns 806. Wondering which baits are considered “must-haves” or “go-tos” trying to get a couple quality baits to start out and not break the bank.
  5. Wouldn’t surprise me those dudes take their job way too seriously ? Thanks - ill check it out. Could you send a link to it by chance? Can’t find it in the search
  6. Hello guys I’m in south-eastern pa outside of philly. It’s considered a virus hot-spot and all state parks nearby are closed. There’s now very few places left to (legally) fish. Anyone have some spots around se pa that are non-state parks?
  7. Welcome man, fellow pa guy here. Philly burbs
  8. Hello everyone wondering which dobyns fury casting rod is more versatile. The 734 or 735, I’m debating which to grab before TW ends their sale
  9. Hello everyone, TW has the fury and phenix m1 casting rods both on sale and around the same price. Wondering which you all prefer to those who have tried both. Thanks
  10. Craig, im tempted to do the same and book a day with Mitch would love to gain some new insight on the lake. And You’re Absolutely right about the pleasure boaters and jet ski riders, they’re everywhere. At times I’ve even felt unsafe to say the least, not to mention the extreme fishing pressure it receives. Seems like there is a tournament every other day. I honestly wish there were other lakes without a horsepower restriction nearby; I may have to venture up to wallenpaupack this year. thanks, adam
  11. I appreciate the responses guys. Can’t go wrong with a senko in a fishy spot lol, looking forward to fishing from a non-rented boat. I e heard it holds some pigs, a buddy at a local tackle shop was showing me a couple over 7 caught out of GL last year
  12. Hello I am going to quarantine my boat at green lane reservoir this year. Wondering if anyone has any spring time tips for fishing there. I don’t have any electronics on my John-boat yet. Any help appreciated, first year keeping my boat up there. Thanks
  13. How do you think it will handle bigger stuff 1-4 oz
  14. Yeah you have to dial in the off-shore game, and your electronics. It is a tough lake with a ton of pressure, and little visible cover. Not to mention there is practically no grass in the lake. Yeah I have heard of him, I’m tempted to book a half day just to pick his brain.
  15. Do you think it can handle bigger baits with the stock spool? 1-4oz tops
  16. Glad to hear that man, can’t wait to try mine out!
  17. Got the same one, hopefully it’s a solid reel. I could find little to no information on this reel. I take it you’re liking yours, haha. Appreciate the response!
  18. I was a bit skeptical because I could hardly find any information about this reel. Appreciate the response, I’m looking forward to trying it out ASAP!
  19. Hey guys tackle trap has daiwa catalina left hand retrieve reels for over 50% off. Just picked one up myself, there is a promo code “bbc10” for 17$ off as well. https://tackletrap.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=75_823_3020&products_id=15063
  20. Has anyone fished Blue Marsh here? Just started fishing there last year. It was a grind trying to learn how to catch them deep and read my graphs. Often times I’m not sure whether to hit the no-wake zones or main lake. Any tips appreciated.
  21. Appreciate the detailed responses guys. I think I’m going with the 795 paired with a Cardiff 300 for a super-budget friendly combo. Or, should I spend a bit more and get a lews superduty 300? Also, I’m looking to grab an s-waver 168, 7” slammer, some sort of bluegill bait (gantarelle, shell cracker etc), a hudd 68 special, and maybe a spro-rat. These baits listed “should” cover most of the basic techniques behind throwing the big swimbaits right? Thanks, Adam
  22. Yeah I think the 795 is the ticket. I’ve heard most people say it has a softer action tip which is what I’m looking for. Most of the baits I’m looking to throw are treble hooked, but it seems like it could handle the occasional soft swim bait requiring a harder hook-set. Think I’m going to go with the 795, I drive a small suv and like you said it seems more practical. Now I just need to pull the trigger on the whole set up. Im probably going to start with a 7” slammer, gantrelle jr, s-waver, and a big paddle tail or two. Thanks
  23. Appreciate the info phish. I was thinking about staying on the “smaller” ends of these baits for the same reasons you’ve outlined. Would you recommend the 795 or shop around a bit? I was gonna say don’t get me discouraged aleady haha. I have a cabin up the Poconos in promised land state park. I planned to throw some bigger stuff up there this year.
  24. Have you actually thrown big baits up there in the poconos and had no luck, or are you trolling?
