  1. My absolute favorite reel at that price point. You'll love it ??
  2. Another tip: if using a measuring board, wet it first. Easier on the bass's natural coating and it seems to keep them calmer.
  3. It sorta struck me as complicating a one horse parade ?
  4. I had a similar problem crop up. I solved it by dissassembling the unit: the commutator on the motor armature was caked in carbon from the brushes.
  5. I thought I was the only one who's discovered it's much easier to find fishing tackle than fish ?
  6. Truer words were never spoken.
  7. There's a point off the entrance to the dock on a local lake that always draws a number of bank fisherman. If I can't catch a bass there, I generally will boat someone's lure ?
  8. Big bull gator takes some sun on Lake Martin, La.
  9. I use chunks of beef liver marinated in catfish attractant. Shrimp would definitely stay on the hook better if you're casting.
  10. Until I lose confidence that it might produce a bite.
  11. Blue sapphire has always been my go to, second choice is green with any dark flakes.
  12. I buy it for the magazine, enough value in that for me.
  13. One for every bait or technique I intend to use that day: I hate wasting time on the water re-rigging if I don't have to.
  14. Worth it for a while to research topics of interest, but I doubt I'll keep it beyond a year.
  15. Welcome to my world ? Spent the whole day fishing for bass and the only thing that were biting were gar. ?
  16. I'd also speculate it needs a larger hook size. You noted there's a slot in the bottom of the hookbaits. That is a very tall piece of plastic. FWIW, my swimbaits run best with the bottom weight hanging free, not enclosed by the slot which would limit a proper hookset. YMMV.
  17. Way to go Nathan ??
  18. True, permanent means permanent, which is why I use it on my aluminum G3 for mounting transducer brackets, etc. But for the record, I have been able to remove individual screws that had 5200 on the threads. Never had to resort to an impact driver, but YMMV, so....be forewarned.
  19. And I thought my Max was the only one who liked to attack the water coming from a hose ??
  20. 3M™ Marine Adhesive Sealant 5200, comes in fast cure and a longer cure version.
  21. Unfortunately I must have a short attention span...I usually get bored with it long before I find out it works ? I always have one rigged on deck but I have caught a total of one on it, and that one I spotted first on HB Live Imaging in some brush.
  22. They used to require you ship just a few-inch section with the model # info. The last time they just required emailing a photo of the model # area and the breakage. ?
  23. Lews has a fairly generous replacement policy for breakage, though not a good as it used to be. Keep calling and, depending on when you bought it, you might be able to replace it for a much-reduced price. I think they now have only one person answering the customer service phone line. Don't wait on hold. Keep dialing until you get through. This worked for me the last time I contacted them. In the past, I've gotten replacements for a fee even admitting the breakage was an accident and my fault.
  24. I've considered doing the same. Would definitely be easier to see movement with hi-vis braid and leader instead of straight flouro.
