Hey guys, could some of you guys share some knowledge on how to target river smallies in the winter on open water. I live in upper midwest and its a pretty big river dam with mainly rocky bottoms but there are sections where there is flat mud. Baits to use? Water depth target? Current or slack water? Please and thank you guys!
Thanks i looked on dobyns site for refurbished. So i will mainly be using a rod for frogging, plopping, and jigs/senkos. Do you think the 734c sierra is better than the 705sf in terms of those applications? Or should i save 30 dollars and get the 705sf if it does the same job.
So Ive been planning on getting a Dobyns Fury for awhile now for frogging/heavier duty techniques with the occasional jigs/senko for better sensitivity compared to my other rods. Was supposed to be a frugal choice but found deals for both, the fury being 90 from 120 and the Sierra being 135 from 180. Is the sierra worth the extra bump? Or just stick with my frugal choice of the fury and maybe pick up more baits and stuff along with it.
