  1. Aw, man. Now I wish I'd got one of those, too.
  2. Awesome. Here's hoping. If they had one in black magic, I would've bought that, too. I fish some dirty, nasty water, and I need all the help I can get. I love me a loud rattle.
  3. I got a couple of the THUD models a little while back. They're true to the name. Super deep knock, comparatively speaking.
  4. I'm a recent convert, and absent literally everything else about them that I like, I'm just glad that at least the hooks aren't garbage. Just about every other hard bait I buy, I just replace the hooks before they even see the first drop of water.
  5. If it makes you feel any better, I've never caught on a jerkbait before, either. Haven't been fishing them long, and I'm probably still not doing it right (especially now that the water's cold), but it sure is fun.
  6. Super sweet. I'm excited about playing with the black magic cranks.
  7. 6thsense order came in right as I got home. So that's pretty sweet. I got: Crush 100X - Backwater Bluegill Crush 100X - Black Magic Movement 80X - Black Magic Movement 80X - Threadfin Shad Provoke 106X - 4K Shad Provoke 106X - Chartreuse Pearl
  8. Stuff like this is why nobody else gets to spool my gear anymore.
  9. Like I said, I love mine. Heard about it from a local dude that pretty much used all Lew's stuff. That said, at the $100-$150 USD price point, there are a lot of good options.
  10. I knew about Latimer, but Swindle surprised me. I saw that on Instagram yesterday.
  11. Every Abu rod I've ever picked up feels heavier than listed. I have a 7' MH/F spinning rod that fishes more like a heavy. Big, fat blank on that thing. But it was cheap, so it's not fair to judge the whole line on that experience. @Dangerfield, for the presentations you'd be doing with this rig, I think you can never go wrong with a Tatula Elite or a Fury. I'dlike to throw another option in, a Lew's TP1 Black. I have the 7'2" MH/F that I use for jigs and weighted plastics, and I'm absolutely in love with it. Scored it during the TW Black Friday sale. I can't speak to how the length would work for yak fishing, so I'm staying out of that.
  12. Fish are quite inconsiderate, hanging out in such hard to reach places.
  13. I'm tempted to spray a jerkbait black to see how that does.
  14. If I'm honest, I wish I hadn't bought a 5.6. I don't do enough really deep work to justify it, and I should have recognized that. The LFS is a legit reel for $100, though. I don't have any personal experience stacking it against similar-priced stuff from Shimano or Daiwa, but I don't regret my brand choice beyond wishing I'd just got a ratio better suited to how I like to fish.
  15. I have a LFS in 5.6, and I like it quite a bit, FWIW. I've got another in 6.8 on another setup. They're solid.
  16. Yessir, I did. I missed out on the 8.3 model, but I managed to ****** the 7.5:1 you see here.
  17. I kind of am, too. That's part of why I finally decided to jump into it. I like fishing dark baits, figured I need to give it a shot with this.
  18. Didn't think to take pictures until after I'd already got it spooled up and played musical rods to get it where I wanted it, but here you go. My new Tournament MB (that I'm totally in love with), and some sweet beavers. And before anybody asks, yes those are snake skins. The new babies shed while we were out of state. I didn't notice they were in the frame before I took the picture, and I'm way too lazy to go back and reshoot.
  19. I'm going to try hard to force myself to focus on – hurk Sorry. Try again. I want to do more fin – gag FINESSE FISHING There I said it.
  20. I haven't had that experience with AbrazX, but I've heard that InvizX has a lot of stretch.
  21. I'll let you know when my 6thsense order comes in. I fish a lot of dirty water, so I've got high hopes.
  22. I saw one Monday morning. First I ever saw outside a zoo or something like that. Little guy. It was pretty sweet.
  23. Oh my. That hurts.
  24. Jigs were consistently bringing my biggest fish (and biggest is relative, I think I had 1 that even got close to 4lbs).
  25. When you rig it rightside up, the tail curls up and just kind of sits there. Rig it upside down, and it actually has the sashay it's supposed to have. Edit: And that sashay works in time with the blade so it's a more complete presentation.
